I've had this tucked away for a while now just waiting to sell the DC2 so that I could get started on it.
It's a red 1991 EE9(UK) Civic VTi 1.6 16v
As you can see from the pics it hasn't been on the road for quite a while. It has been dry stored for the last 3 years at least.
Bodywork wise its in great shape for a car of this age though one back arch needs a bit of work to make perfect.
I started it on Saturday for the first time in a few months to take it home from were it was being stored and the clutch was seized and the engine was running a bit lumpy, but I wasn't worried about this. You'll see why in a minute.
Got it home on the trailer, stuck a few things in the boot of the zafira and headed straight for Cookstown.
A week later and this is the result...
Thanks to Keith Smyth for putting the engine in and sorting out all the wiring and clutch conversion etc.
So as you can see there's now a jap DC2 engine in place of the old B16. In a car that weighs 850kgs this should be fun!
Rough spec so far :
1997 B18C DC2 Type R engine
S80 LSD gearbox 4.4FD
Spoon drop in cams
MFactory adjustable cam pulleys
Skunk 2 Inlet manifold
98 spec DC2 Exhaust manifold
AEM long arm induction kit
New head gasket, valve stem oil seals, timing belt and tensioner manifold gaskets etc
powerflow exhaust (to be changed)
That's it so far. I'm hoping to get the car home on Saturday so that I can get it ready for the road.
Plans at the minute are to sort the back arch and leave bodywork mint, get a 2.5'' exhaust system made up, paint the rocker cover, fit a full polybush kit to tighten everything up and possibly a set of Meister R coilovers if there are any funds left over.
Also planning to get it back on the original H reg which is stamped on every bit of glass in the car.
That's all for now, any comments and suggestions welcome.
Cheers.
