hey guys just got my car, the guy said he put some Miller? 15W60 in it!

i am worry should i change it?

to either Castrol Magnetec 10W40

or Castrol Edge 0W30

disregard price, which one should i change it to.

15w60 is very thick oil for your car, take it out immidiately!!! 10w40 is the standard you can go to 10w30 or 5w30 or if your engine is older even 20w50 but 15w60 is just way too thick. it will not flow properly and will cause engine damage!!!!

yeah! I will change it tomorrow!!!!!!:mad:

but so just use Magnetec?

or is the Edge 0W30 even better? it is full synthetic?

I always use 10W40 CASTROL OIL which I hate CASTROL OIL, I prefer MOBIL OIL but I can't find it in 10W40.

honestly guys interval is more important than quality of oil, if you all drive hard as long as you change the oil every 2500 you should be fine :nice: but you cant go wrong with mobil 1/royalpurple/lucas/etc...

wtf! 15w 60 ! no! put 10w 40 or 5w 30 depending of your climate.

15w60 is mainly used in KFC!! :lol: I love that chicken! :p

:D :( :D

Castrol Magnatec 10W40 should do the job... whatever you change to, make sure you replace it in short intervals! This ensuring great running protection of ur Honda engine...:drive:

:lol: yeh theres no difference between the 2 :lol:

Back to the topic, if you use your car for the track then go for something like;
10W-40
5W-40
0W-40

For the street then you can use those above or;
10W-30
5W-30

I agree with blinx, viscuosity is much more important than quality, i would only spend the extra to get a better viscuosity. Remember you have a honda engine, not GM
But yeh, 15W-60 is like KFC chicken flavoured oil :lol:

sorry to crash this tread

when is it best to change the oil then every 2500 miles??

and what oil i best for the b18c6

cheers

Seriously, I'm taking my EK9 for service every 10000 kms, with 3 engine oil changes in between every 2500 kms. :nice: Non synthetic oil is excellent don't worry its tested ;) Just make sure to change it at most every 2500 kms

hahahhaha KFC :wow:

please don't flame me I changed it to 0W30 full Synth. Castrol one

comments welcome...is it good? or bad?

0W-30 is very good, especially for the street. If you track then I recommend 0W-40.

RVM: I don't think 0W existed back then, oils have changed and improved over the past decade.:nice:

thats what i was thinking, because agin the xW part just means lower temp viscosity as i understand?

yeah no plan for tracking anytime soon yet, all money going on servicing.

gotta change Cambelt and plugs and filter, compression test, just for my own peace of mind.

Yup so pretty much 0W is the best you can get for start up protection which is the most critical part when your engine is in operation. Especially for a high revving 4 cylinder engine. 15W-60 will kill your honda and is mainly used in V8/diesels etc where piston strokes are less.

I use 0W-40 and 5W-40. 5W-30 is very good too.
