yes i have, my mate graeme dan alex and james have one...and its just a civic...1 grand more gets you a lotus elise... i know id rather wait one more month and get a lotus over a honda.


didnt dispute they were good, but 6 grand for a civc that age that milage is absolute madness....the reason ek9's are expensive...because idiots pay the price people ask!

Well said..! Its because of people on forums that these and Ek4s get totally over valued.. Need to get realistic and take the rose tinted specs off boys..

Gavs '9 is worth the £6K with the mods..

Half the low mileage EK9s are just clocked anyway, viewed a couple with lower mileage and they were no where near as clean. Im happy with it so

Theres no fault in you buying it bud, if people will pay around asking price then they're going stay almost £6K for a while. It was a very nice clean looking '9. Hope it serves you well.

I love it. Yeah, miles are high but you would tell. If it had 50k miles on the clock, no one would ever doubt it. It drives so so tight and its mint!
As said, much cleaner than a couple with half the mileage (on the clock anyway)
Im happy, yeah it was a lot of £££.
Just the whole mugen intake/spoon N1 and de cat makes it FAR too loud for me.
Was going to order an N1 baffle but seems they're VERY restrictive, so will do some searching

yea...thats definatly it, i do have an ek4...and it drives exactly the same as any ek9 ive driven...and like i said ive had 4 mates own one. i also paid 50 quid for it! and built it myself. most parts were ek9 aswell.

you can buy a highly modded ek9 for 6 grand fair enough worth it.



i dont get why people think they are the be all and end all, its just a quick hatch...now i will get all to douches who have spent millions modding saying they've whipped evos n ****...how much have you lot all spent on yours to make them fast?


and for the f*cktard that asked why i'm here...i'm here because i LIKE hondas...and especially also like ek9s, but im not going to sit here and let you all spaff bollocks about how incredibly engineered a civic is... if u genuinely believe they are, then you are deluded.

just for a bit of perspective, my mate picked up an s14 silvia at the weekend for 5 grand, isn't that bad on fuel, much faster much more potential.

I do think they are well engineered, drive a 98 Ford Escort 1.6, and tell me the same. Okay so the Escort is going to cost you £300, I spent thousands on my EK4 and it aint worth shizz now probably give it away because it has rusty arches. As said everthing has a price. Now where are these Elises for 7K?

the potential for an s14 is more, the engines take more, alot more than a b16.
rear wheel drive is always better! and IS faster.
plus they look better...i am aware this is opinion.

buy a modded one, sell the parts and make it standard, pretty much what dunx does, then sells them for what i think is a high price, but only high priced because he knows people will pay it.

RWD always being better, RWD being faster and the car looking better are all subjective points really. No right or wrong answer. But an EK9 will always be considered a better car for far more reasons than you've stated, and the "different head" part I sincerely hope you're joking.

Yeh i see what ya talking about, I actually owned my EK4 from new in 98, paid 16K for it and to date have spent about 26K on it, it will see off most 9's and worry much more powerful machinery, had a play with Z4 the other day went round the outside of him on a roundabout, he was not happy. I actually like my CL9 Accord more than my EK4, but i am 40. Should be rollin a Porsche

LSD
Seam weld
Stiffer braces
Steering rack
Suspension/springs
Brakes
Thicker ARB
Body styling bumpers/lips/spoiler etc
Recaros, rear seats

And there a several more. Driving them both there is quite a big difference imo

sorry mate if rwd was better then formula one would use it... and many other forms of motorsport, fwd was created because its cheaper...end of! obviously now with tricksy diffs and such they are better, but if u put mega power through fwd it wont take it, 4wd and rwd is always better.

it works on ek9's because its low power. and obviously yes i am joking, but still driven most of mates ones and its no diffrent really, its had a few bits done, but then most ek9's have been modded in some way.

remember im not doubting its ability, cars with more ability have depreciated more than ek9s and WHY? makes no sense. other than people just handing over dosh because its the norm.

I'm fairly sure he knows that... He was probably referring to its handling in general - as it WILL be similar to a Ek4s handling, but not as good for those reasons. It will still feel quite similar to drive both cars I'd imagine..
