Splat's V6 build.

In this case I'd have to say that it's a showing of function over form. Prob cheapest hood he could find to fit over that V6.

Good point splat has certainly earned my respect with a build of this level, that things gotta be a blast to drive!!!

Thanks, i know Hasport has made a new kit to lower the motor 2in......but i just dont see why i would want to buy a new kit, and drive around with 1 1/2 in ground clearance.

Yeah, that's very poor ground clearance. Maybe eventually go for a custom cowl hood like the old Gude CRX had. Looked pretty viscous!

The hood.........i know im going to get a lot of crap about this, so.....my friend and i talked about what and how this thing will look like, after we talked we made up our mind.
The final product will be up next week.........so at this point, this is all i am going to show you all.

Now on with the Hood.

to be honest.. that hood is quite disturbing.. lol .. if i were you .. i would finish closing off that center part that you started cut the opening and jus remove the grill and leave it wide open .. the lining of the hood where your grill and hood meet is perfect you would just have a bigger opening .. my opinion.. that hood is jus not civic material lmaoo

I dont like the hood.. The thing takes off like it weighs as much as a fart tho. I think you have too many things going on like the 8th gen civic wheels. But nice car in all. thanks for showing ps im not flaming

Some updates...

Now, my brother and i were going to a car meet, my brother has the J32a2 tiptronic in his Ej6 hatch.........and he crushed me really bad.

So my friends at RPM Systems pulled my old motor + trans and we sold it as a whole kit, motor mounts and wiring...plug and play.

Then i picked this up.

This is a J32a3 TL Sport 6 speed LSD.
Stock motor with only 15K on the clock, still both cats, car is super quiet with 270Hp and 265Qt.......oh, and its DBW (Drive By Wire)

Had the engine bay painted dolphin gray.....if you want to call it that.

Had so holes filled, full brake tuck, replaced my master cylinder with a USDM ITR unit....my god what a diff in pressure.
Also had the wiring tucked under the dash.

Oh, this is a must, traction bars.....what a world of diff.

Here are some shots.

This was the 1st time we took the car out with the new motor, and no prob's came up.

Now as far as i know, there is 1 other guy driveing around with DBW on there civic, but the only diff is that this other guy riped apart his whole wireing and made it one unit.

Mine, is all plug and play.

As you can see, the newer intake is about 1 inch taller, but in a few months, if everything works out.
I will have a new intake that will fit under a stock hood.......a stock hood.=)

Love your build m8 this car must be a beast. The only thing i would change if possible would be the bonnet

I know, every where i go i hear the same thing, but my friend and i have a plan.

We feel if we change 2 thing's, we will be able to close with a stock hood.

I Must do this one day- get the space in the garage & do a car from start to finish-

great project

Steve

Respect for trying something different

TBH there really isn't much you could have done about a bonnet ( hood )
