Gym/Fitness thread

Also good to walk like John Wayne for the next few days after! lol

Cheers for that Ian. What do you mean by growing/testosterone excercises?

I now know that I need to do legs but does that have to be in the same gym session or at any point during the week? I'm sure I read on here somewhere that doing a 20min leg workout at the start of the session will help me with the rest of my workout or make me grow fast in general. How does that work?

What Ian means is that Leg squats, deadlifts, leg press anything big and heavy on your quads will release natural bursts and increase in testosterone.. which makes you grow alot faster.

Only problem with squats is it increases waist size, Leg press will still give you the test gain and chest width but still keep a Cheryl Cole waist :woot:

I don't know what you get upto in your gym?!? :))

Hows your training coming along now? You had any luck finding your bike?

Lol legs always f@#k me up! Walk like a goon for 2 days afterwards! 3 days last week! :nerv:

Its going good training wise. Just got to sort my diet out. Still got my gut which has only increased since i started...

No joy with my bike but the may have found the culprit so watch this space....

Very motivational music !! that always gets me going

Personally I hate treadmill and crosstrainers and all of that nature, I tend to do circuits consisting of burpees, jumping squats, mountain climbers, push ups, box jumps and plenty more. usually set myself about 3 exercises and do one exercise for 30secs then straight into another and do this for around 6mins. This instantly raises the bpm, sweating and gets your lean and ripped

here's one for you's: I keep getting mad cramps in my forearms when doing any types of weights, after a while I can barely grip the bloody weights and its like my skins going to rip! On the plus side i've started to get into a nice wee rhythm on my cardio workout!

p.s. I've forearms like popeye if that has anything to do with it?

Starting my diet Monday next week and got myself some of this:

I've used superpump 250 before but not this it's ment to be better so looking forward to legs on Sunday :)

Is everyone still training, if so how are you getting on hitting your goals??

All the advice I've read so far is all pseudo science. The only key to trimming fat is a sound nutrition plan. You need to cycle your carbs, cut out refined sugar and eat good quality lean protein.

I've been a PT for 8 years. I know. I have 10% bf because I eat well.

Have to agree with with this... I'm a PT also, and where people fall short the most is Nutrition. Too many of my clients(before my instruction) are under the impression that training hard and taking supplements are the key to achieving there goal.

However, If they brought the correct nutrition into the equation then supplements wouldn't be a factor.

Eat small amounts on a regular basis, i.e 5-6 smaller meals per day, always have breakfast and don't eat too late in the evening. Obviously when I say 5-6 meals per day I don't mean fry ups and mcdonalds, but good quality foods.

There's been a lot of talk about which supplement, and what dosage, but honestly lads, natural is best.

all about diet and what your trainen for,ive just finished bulking for the year so onto leaner foods and starting to cut from monday onwards

Eat like a Scientist. Train like an Animal. Sleep like a Baby. Grow like a Monster.

need a quick snack before going to the gym, last few times i've when't i just keep running out of energy. any ideas?

do u take pre workout supplements like protein, energy booster. before gym i take protein and no-xplode and am always ok

Personally I have a small sandwich, maybe a bit of fruit etc before hand or save a bit of lunch and have that before you go. On a training note I managed 4 sets of 1 rep 1 arm pull ups at the weekend, was quite impressed with that!

my diet is crap. i work 7.30 to 5. so my last bit of food is around 1. I get home and go straight to the gym, normally around 1hr duration. then get something to eat after. usually a load of veg and either fish or chicken. just finding myself needed a boost to get me through the gym as i'm drained before my muscles are actually worked.
