Just replaced mine mate, no VTEC without it as the car doesn't know it's under load I used a pair of pliers and twisted and pulled at the same time and it came out, put up a good fight though Do a DIY ECU CEL code check mate it'll tell you if you deffo have a VSS vault

Is there a special way of getting it out, I've mashed up my hands and it won't budge, I've removed the nut holding it in, there's two other nuts but they just screw the top half of the sensor to the other, my ECU is throwing code 17-VSS and the speedo doesn't work and VTEC won't engage to need...

Are the speed sensors the same? The s80 one doesn't work so gonna swap it with my s4c one....wanna know before I do it as their a mission to get to...

Hi i have a EK4 with a B18CR swap, using the JDM P73 ECU Basically the engine lights on, saying code 21, VTEC spool solenoid valve, so im guessing thats why theres no VTEC, but its hitting the limiter at 7k....it idles at 1,100, its wierd, it feels like its running out of grunt at 7k, the...

mines ideling at 1,100 and vtec wont engage. Hitting the limiter at 7k...bit smokey

Just checked deffo 20 and 21 mate, there's a pause in between the two sequences

Pretty sure it's 20 and 21, so electronic load detector and VTEC spool solenoid?

THINK...not sure but think its saying 21...VTEC solenoid spool valve? Not 100pc on how to read it though

Hi, Fitted a 96 spec B18C w/S80 (JDM) into my '98 EK4, had to use the B16 loom, but used the P73 ECU, all the loom plugs in fine except the sensor on the 2nd inlet branch that the B16 doesn't have (been told its an air temp sensor) is left unplugged as it doesn't have it on the B16 loom, and...
