How to remove VSS sensor from S80 box

Is there a special way of getting it out, I've mashed up my hands and it won't budge, I've removed the nut holding it in, there's two other nuts but they just screw the top half of the sensor to the other, my ECU is throwing code 17-VSS and the speedo doesn't work and VTEC won't engage to need to sort it

I used a monkey wrench on it and its rotated to the right slightly (the screw hole no longer lines up with the hole in the gearbox for the screw) but won't budge from the box, there's no movement in it and its too crampt in there to get really good leverage on it....

Any ideas

just pulls out! usually very stiff as it has a big rubber o-ring seal

use a bit more muscle when you twist and pull :)
 
I found if you pry the arm that you removed the 10mm from it twists and makes it easier to pull out.
 
twist it slightly at the same time put a straight screw driver under it and it will lift up nice and easy
