hi everyone!

tried starting my new engine today :( guess what....it didnt :(

first thing, i have fuel
second i have spark but it cuts off after 3 sparks (possible ignition module failure?)
theard, i have 2 orange plugs on the drivers side (RHD) i dont have a clue what they plug into i have looked on the engine bay thread to see if i can find where they plugs into....no luck so if anyone has a pic they can show me that would be great! :)

also last of all there is 3 small round grey plugs behind the inlet manifold where do they go? i have pluged in the idle conrol valve throttle position sensor and the vacume thingy on top of the manifold, im begining to wander weather ive sent the wrong loom :(

any help will be much apreciated, please dont think im stupid lol

ANY orange plugs on a Honda are ABS, the 2 on the drivers side will be for the pump/abs sensor, can ignore these as if you don't have the positive feed off the battery to the ABS pump relay box then these will not be live

Plugs around the throttle body/IM that I can think of are

-IACV idle air control valve (back of IM)
-TPS throttle position sensor (back of TB)
-MAP (top of TB)
-IAT inlet air temperature (middleish right of IM)

There are some other plugs under there I can think of

-your lambda which should be plugged into the lambda sensor on the exhaust manifold
-another plug which goes into the feed line for your power steering

Hope that helps, if only you posted this last week when I had the engine out, haha

Ok mate thanks :)

What you think about the spark problem?

The ecu isn't getting a signal from some thing, so cuts off spark?

I tryed a new distributor today and it's not changed anything :(

Have you checked the colour of the connector to these 2 sensors?
-TPS throttle position sensor (back of TB)
-MAP (top of TB)

Than can easily plugged in the wrong way round.

I tried both ways, one way turnend the engine light on

Take it the dizzy cap and rotor arm are new? Leads and plugs in good condition?

tbh i'm not the greatest when it comes to wiring, mechanical side i'm fine!

All the earths ok? No wires shorting out?

Another sensor on the back could be knock sensor, not sure if the B16B has a knock sensor or not though, need someone to confirm

I have a b16a2, I used one off my mates car so I know it works as I seen it run, one of the plugs I can see disconnected comes off the injector harness, a grey round plug, also the other one is grey and round niether of them fit any where :(

Ok I've looked in the engine bay thred, and Noticed that one of them round grey plugs goes to something in the middle of the in the inlet between the intakes from the plenum to the head, but the other one I thought plugged into the sensor that goes into the induction pipe but the plugs the wrong shape, damn I'm so confussed!!!!!! :(

Engine is b16a correct? And what engine loom do you have? round plug near injector wires should be the IAT. But if you have a standard b16a I.M then you won't have the IAT sensor on I.M runner, it will be positioned in air intake pipe. If you can take pics it would help or atleast tell me the colour of wires leading from other plugs your not sure of and I can tell you what there for that way.

I havnt had a chance to get pics as I havent had a camera with me, I will get pics tomorow as it's at work at the mo, I'm not sure what loom I have as I got it from the person that sold the engine to me, I bought the loom and engine seperately to be honest it was a crap service and it wouldn't suprised if it was the wrong loom,

Ill get pics tomorow and see from there

oh and yes it a b16a2 standard as far is I know

Sounds like you might have a EK9 b16b loom which is ok you can work around it to make it work on your b16a

Would it be hard to adapt? Would it cause the car not to start?

No not hard, I think you will just need to bridge a wire in at ecu so the ecu will think the vtec oil pressure sensor is connected as ek9 b16b loom does not include wiring for oil press. Make sure the engine loom earth which bolts to thermostat housing is connected as it won't run with out this.

Right ran a couple of tests this morning and put my multi meter across the injector plug and it looks like there is no signal to the injectors, I can't get hold of a noid tester though to clarify this, any other tests I can do ?

Don't think it's possible to check voltage with a multimeter at injector plug as voltage is in pulses which only last milliseconds so hard to get any solid reading. If you place a screw driver up against injector while cranking and put your ear to end of screw driver you should be able to hear the injector operating. Will be clicking noise. Have you checked that earth strap of engine loom is bolted to thermostat housing? What ecu are you using btw?

The loom earth is connected, I done more tests today and remembered about flash codes, took the two pin plug in the green rubber casing joined it with a split pin, code 16 no crank signal ingnition amplifier, I'll order one Monday and see if that sorts it :)
