Just changing my airbox over to a mugen one :D and just found this?! Where does it go? Could this be why my engine light is on?

Anyone know what it's off?

Cheers

No good showing us one end, where does the other end go to?

Maybe an earth for the headlight loom, as it earths to the side if the air box beside the headlight.

I'm looking on the wiring diagram and it says it could be the immobiliser as the wire is pink, not 100% how to read this diagram

Just locked my car and turned immoboliser and shook the car and no alarm :/ it does work on the fob though.. The wire sorta shape and bends look like it goes up to driver side light but can't see where it's popped off :/ I tried holding it onto the engine block and retest the alarm and nothing :/

Cheers

my guess is that the b14 on the diagram is the ecu connection b connector number 14 but i dont think there are immobiliser signals on the B connector. not on the ek9 anyway. what car is this from?

It's an ek4, would an immoboliser wire go near the headlight? Just seems strange considering the engine managment light popped on while going round brands hatch on my first track day and I find this? And the alarm now doesn't work? I'll have to have another look at the wiring diagram and where the wire has broken off from tomorrow hopefully

Cheers

trace the wire back into whichever harness its going into, will help to narrow it down...

Okay, after work I'll have a look! Hopefully find out more! Also wit this engine light on, where actually is the plug in bit to read the Ecu? Or is it a dash flas style?

Cheers

The wire goes just behind the alarm box under the hood and then feeds into the large cable loom very close to the bulkhead, there is no more indentifications on the wire and I don't know where that wire loom goes to :/ not sure if that's anymore help, I doubt it :/

Right I checked this wire out and there is no continuity between the pos or neg at all. I did a volt check and it's got 4.4v between the neg and 7.7v between the pos? I tried connecting it to neg and nothing happened, I tapped it on the live and shook the car still nothing!? Very confused now! Anyone shed some light?

Cheers

This may not work as it could go through a fuse/resistor.. but try just switching your fluke to ohm's and check continuity from the end of the wire to a good earth point (oem earth point on the rocker cover maybe).

Although if it were an earth, i'm sure it would just earth inside the car and not run all that way to earth... lol

I used the battery neg as the earth point (the source of "earth" even though it's dc haha)

Really confused :(

Yes, but you had it set on dc. Try resistance/ohms, with the positive on the end of the wire and neg on the earth(or neg terminal on the battery).

This is the setting btw.. sorry If you know.

Continuity ;) and that was first thing I tried and it's open circuit :/ or outer limits on flukes lol, I went from wire to neg - nothing, wire to pos - nothing, then went wire to neg on dc and got 4.4v, wire to pos 7.7v :S

Cheers
