Hi anyone help or can tell me why?, its my window is about 7 inches away from closing but seems to be jammed or something else :/ it moves a fraction up or down but just won't shift after a certain point and it's not completely closed :/ oh car is 2000 ek9

two possible things wrong, your window regulator has packed in and/or you need to spray your window rubbers in silicone spray and give them a clean out.

Exactly the same happened to me this weekend. Passenger window was going slowly up, and then stopped about 10 cms from the top. Motor had packed up. Drivers one did a few months ago, so knew the passengers wasn't far behind. I got both sides (regulator and motor) for about £15. They are cheap - the civic eg ones also fit and should be easy to source. (one of the metal bars needs swapping over if you want to put all the screws back in, or you can just fit it straight and leave one nut off)

How easy they to swap over and do I need change a bar if I get another ek one and will the ek civic ones work?

Yeah, I couldn't see any difference between standard EK and EK9 window regulator/motor. A simple job really, but you might be struggling to get to some of the nuts if the window is half way down iirc. Been a while I did mine. Have you tried pulling the window up as you operate the switch?

Just note the EG regulators aint the same as EK like you stated.

Well, the only possible course of action here will be to remove the door card and see if you can get it all out I'm afraid.... Good luck with the lovely glue stuff Honda used to seal up the plastic sheet behind the door card btw!

As above, if you can get another EK one it should be a straight swap - i had a hard time finding an ek one, but managed to get hold of a set of EG ones on the cheap.

There is a bar (about 20 cms long) that is on a wheel runner that you can swap over. As I said, you don't have to do this, but it means when you go to fit it back on, one of the holes won't line up so you'll be holding your regulator in with one less screw. You take the bar off of your current one and swap it over. It's easy to get off.

The whole job is pretty simple. It makes more sense once you start doing it. Much easier if you have someone help you when putting the glass back in.
