So I got my upper mounts the other day, thinking everything will just slot in perfectly, then I encounter another problem! Has anyone have any idea how to loosen the golden bolt so I can extend the wee thing to reach the upper bracket mount.

The bolt on the cross bar

and this is the bolt off it but not from the bar

the bolts on the bar are so tight! i've WD40'd it and all sorts. hope someone can understand what the problem is

Cheers, Ally

Spanner on it and hammer it? Or out a spanner on and out a pipe on the end to get leverage

Reverse threads could be your issue?.. Try the other way if you haven't already.

lol i've tried all of above and now chucked the bar in the bin

nahh I dont understand how it can be so tight! prob dip it in hot water if i can be bothered with it later to "expand" the metal or something..

Try holding it near a flame on the cooker if you have a gas one?

I had the same problem with a c pillar brace, same setup and that loosened it off

that's a shout mate. think i'd better letter the wd40 dry off first lol.. one disaster after another

Nah fire is fun :p best idea to wipe if off as that stuff stinks when you burn it haha

Those threads aren't reversed I can see from the picture.

If it was me I would put as large a screwdriver that will go through the hole or a bar and use a spanner to losen the nut, using the screwdriver to lever against.

Another option is stand on the screwdriver and then stand on or hammer(large) on the spanner.

It will come off with either of the above, dont be shy about it, give it some.

Fitting mine was a real pain.

I had to fix it the top first with them only slightly done up and the i got an extention bar and hammered the feet down so they would fit flush on the shocker bolts, then tighten.

Haha I am actually scared the bar will snap or something. Still not bothered with it ATM

Cheers for the feedback folks :) might just hand the problem over to my mechanic haha
