Hi guys,

my mate bought a ek9 over the weekend.

Thing is, once the car is warm, the gearbox whistles in 4th and is a little louder in 5th. From cold, these gears are quiet. So I'm confused to wha this could be?

Any ideas on what this could be?

Cheers guys.

It's has new Honda mtf in on tuesday!

Shame I didn't hear it before.

Any idea's?

This is a strange one, couldnt have much to do with the diff could it?

No idea, he took it to the garage and aparently Honda gearboxes are like this! Lol

I find it a bit hard to believe though.

could be a clutch problem mine sounded like a high pitched grinding noise though. it turned out the release bearing was ****ed

Yeah, like a high pitched noise.

I think you maybe on to something mate!

my mate has the same problem very faint whistle, got it checked out and soon found that the clutch release bearing wasnt lubricated when the clutch was fitted.

Brilliant guys. Nothing serious so thats cool.

It's about due a clutch anyway. Seems to slip at high revs so all good.

my release bearing is as loud as fook when its just ticking over and the pedal is out lol

This doesn't do that, it only makes noise on load when the car is warm.

Perhaps the release bearing is on its way out?
