well lads was just wondering if someone could give me some advice.

I currently have 4x100 wheels 6j and 45 offset. I got 4 new ad08 tyres there a couple of weeks back (195 55 15) but there picking up every damn stone on my shitty backroads and the odd stone is hitting the bodywork and now have a few dents :nono:

i want to know if i got wheels with a larger offset would that help prevent the dents or should i get rid of the tyres altogether?

would lighter wheels pick up less stones?

thanks in advance

would lighter wheels pick up less stones?

AD08s arn't soft for a start, and lighter wheels wont affect stone pickup..

The compound of the tyre will affect that (softer = more stones)

I really cant see how the offset of a wheel could affect stone pick up either.

Drive slower perhaps?

well i never had this problem with my last set of tyres (bf goodrich profilers)

i know offset would not help with stone pick up i just thought if i got wheels with a higher offset it would push the wheel further into the arch and therefore minimise the chance of stones hitting the bodywork

im going down my road in 2nd gear at 2000rpm and still flingin stones. going on 3rd is like a hailstorm under the arches :nerv:

i thought ad08's were fairly soft?

thanks for the reply
