Whats a crashed ek9 worth??

Hi lads...another irish lad to join ye..Im new here well ive actually been observin and learin bout ek9's for a while now...
Just thought i'd ask if any 1 knew the price of a crashed ek9?...
its got passanger side damage on the quarter panel, door and wing..
just wonderin roughly wot it'd be worth..
 
Arite and welcome mate !! - Hmmm I would tend to stay away from the crashed ones unless its minor damage.. The problem is if a car has had a large impact, yes you can cover it up with new wings and doors etc but 9 times out of 10 the chassis has taken a hit aswell. Once the chassis is slighly out of line the whole handling of the car etc becomes an issue.. Even if it has been chassis jigged it will never be "perfect"..

However if it is just minor damage to the outer shell what I would do is find out its year, and get a rough guide from piston heads, autotrader on how much a car of that age, milage is going for.. Then work out how much it is going to cost you in parts, paint and labour to repair the car to its former glory - then I would be asking £1000 - £2000 off the price for your inconvienience... However remember selling on may be a bit more difficult if it is an insurance listed Catagory Incident !!

There was a crashed face-lift EK9 on pistonheads, i thought it was worth it, must of been sold :)
 
well as far as i know its a facelift 99 and i was thinking of a reshell...
i think hes asking €2000..
i know the car as he only lives about 4 miles away from me..
havnt actually seen the car yet since the accident but was thinkin of converting an ej6 or ek4 to ek9 with my own little tweaks ..
 
for 2grand you could buy it and break it and get twice that back.or as you say use all therunning gear for your own project.buy it before someone else does.honda heaven in galway will snap that up in blink of an eye
 
2000 !! - Get it bought asap mate !! The engine alone is worth that !!!
 
I'll buy the calipers and carriers of you for a fair price.
 
hmmm must go have a good look at it so.. think theres some left hand suspension damage aswell was talkin to 1 of the lads last nite..
the fella that has it is a bit of a knob!! so he'll either want 10 grand or 2 grand.. hes not really a honda man he just got it handy in a swap wit an evo that was about to blow up!

oh ya i have a 99 coupe aswell so mite transfer it all into her!! make it a bit of a dark horse!!
 
depends on the damage... do you have pictures?

the money of mine i've taken till now is around 3000 euro... and i didn't sold everythging till now ;)

the engine is still there, cmplete swap, but without axles... the centerconsole is still there, rearseats, doorpanals (unfortunatly damaged, just the red parts are ok) and so on... an wrecked ek9 is an el-dorado :p if the most things in it are fine you can get the price for what you've bought it!

I think if I've sold the other parts of mine, i will be around 6000-6500 euro :p
 
well i havt actually seen the car yet.. dont really talk to the guy that owns it... i know his brother fairly well tho and ill have a chat with him this evnin and might try an have a look at it tomorro.. thanks for all the info lads.. :)
 
Its all very well saying its worth a certain amount in parts BUT thats only if it all sells.

But for £2000, if you have the money you can really go wrong

lol i put complaining about short text down to someone having a bad day and wanting to have a go at someone. well thats the only time it annoys me... its still easy enough to understand. i dont see any problem with it... yes not everyone is great at english but they wont loose any sleep over a little comment they couldnt understand will they? lol

It's my 'pet peeve', I really really hate it.

The UK has given birth to some of the most influential and brilliant playwrights and poets; Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde and William Blake to name just three. And some of the greatest literature in the world has come from our small islands and now, hundreds of years on, we have adults spelling like ten year-olds....
