**What WAX should i use?taking in mind i will be using AUTOGLYM SR polish before**

Hi Guys/Girls,

Thinking of Waxing my C/W EK9 as i have never waxed it, i am going to use the Meguairs Gold Class Shampoo/Conditioner then Use AutoGlym Super Resin Polish, What wax would work well with these? :oops:

Whats the best out there that can be brought from Halfords (ideally)?

Want shining results :)

Have you tried the AutoClays? Apparently they are the shiz for cleaning bodywork :secret:

I always used the coloured waxes from Halfords, any surface scratches are filled with waxy goodness :p
 
hey there!!

I Use Auto Glym Super Resin Polish(Red Bottle) and leave it for 15 mins then rub it off then go over it with Extra Gloss Protection (Gold bottle) i used that on my jordan and it comes up with an amazing shine!!

should give it a go!!!

I have BH autobalm, and although i had great results on the integra with it, i found it wasnt the same on the EK.Since then i have been using autoglym SRP topped up with some finish kare 1000p and i got much better results.

I am hoping to get a chance to take my DA polisher to the car within the next week or two, so i have decided to treat it after it has been DA'd. This time i will be using some zaino Z2 and then zaino Z8 as i have heard really good things about these products on white cars.I will post up pics when the car is done

i have yet to use the autobalm so you can give more info on that product,bit of everything in that product..ie hard to state what it is :secret:

have heard good things about finish kare 1000p but another one i have yet to use,i tryed the "dodo" purple haze on my dark blue paint and liked the results
at start but like everything i want to try something else.

after i washed my car .. used paint renovetor.. applied autoglym super resin polish twive...then autoglym ultra deep shine...then for the wax i used meguairs 2.0 tech wax an the car came up amazing (white ek9)however doin all tat i did spend 8 hours at it an tats not including the alloys but if your just applying wax it shouldn take long ;););)

X2 On the FK1000p. It lasts ages and looks great...

Wedge... PM me when you post up the results... would like to see how u get on with the Zaino kit.
 
i use megs shampoo plus ,them autoglym SRP then use megs r26 yellow liquid wax .for my 1st proper clean of the car
them every wash after that i use shampoo plus and r26 yellow wax

autoglym srp is a polish and will take off any wax layers on the paint work you have built up,i only use spr once every 6 months after that i just wax every time to build up layers to protect the paint.

SRP polish mainly shines the paint work as it has abrasives in it.(thats why it takes off all you wax)
Wax seals and protects the paint work,keeps the shine in

my mate is a car detailer and points me in the right direction ,he can get up to £600 a car for a full detail,

autoglym high definition wax comes in a white tub with red lid.its a bollocks to apply and remove,needs to be left on for 45 min or so but when its done you can throw a bucket of water at the car and every last drop will just run off it.AMAZING GEAR think i have the name right i can check monday anyway.

yea thats it bud,high defination wax,getting goood name from "old skool"

mite try it myself :)
in general if you want to get full colour "pop" use a good glaze,srp has a lot
of "fillers" in it also so will hide any "spiderwebs".
all this detailing "keek" has gone to my head,hard to fill or correct spiderweb
marks by hand, so a rotary or the likes may be next on my "to do" list :p

Why did you waste your time applying megs 2.0 after UDS, as USD is a sealent (which does the same job as wax).

As for the Bilt Hamber products, rather than buying them off ebay, why not buy directly from them?

Bilt hamber . I can highly recommend there "FULL CAR CLEANING AND CARE KIT " which consists of auto wash, auto clay and auto balm, all for the bargin price of £27.99..

Auto wash- only 5 ml is enough to give plenty of bubbles and a really nice slick feeling wash
Auto clay (now available in soft)- this stuff has got to be the bargin of the century.Rather than requiring a lub (like megs QD spray) it only requires water as a lub.The size of the bar is the largest i have ever seen, only a 1/4 (never use a full bar, just incase you drop it)of the bar will do the car 3 or 4 times if you keep kneeding it to find a clean bit.

Auto Balm- like said before its a bit of everything, hence why its classed as a AIO ( All In One).It is a really good product,but getting it right can be a problem,well not a problem if you use it correctly.Unlike any other polish/wax/sealent i have ever used, you apply it with a damp applicator pad and you really only need very very little to get the best results.Infact, if you think you are applying the correct amount (like other products) you are actually using too much,which can be a PITA to remove.The trick is use very little, and buff off straight away,working one panel at a time.


I can also highly recomend there Auto foam, for any one who has a snow foam lance and like to use snow foam.

I havent tried any of the dodo range yet,so i am unable to comment on them, but i do know they get good feedback from what i have heard/read

I dont want to go on and on,so if anyone needs anymore info,pop me a pm and i will give you the info you need, or will be able to point you in the right direction if i dont know the answer.

the meg 2.0 wax is alot thicker ..needed to be buffed off twice an it seals the car on top again wiv more of a shine ...;)
 
I've heard the new Turtle wax liquid polish (not too sure why its called that even though they claim its a wax) is supposedly very good. I was reading some reviews on it the other day, and they say it leaves zero white residue etc too.
For the guys that recommened the FK1000p, how does it compare to the collinite 476?

If you have deep pockets use zymol if not use dodo juice you wont get better for the money mate
 
Just brought Meguiars Step 3 Wax, gonna do the whole wash, polish then wax, next weekend, will post up pictures of how it comes out ;)

I've done the same with my RX8 and found brilliant results! Cannot fault with Meguiars! So much better than Autoglym. If you clay it and use quick detailer, its even better!
