I'm looking to replace all 4 tyres within the next week and was wondering what everyones opinions were.. The car is a civic coupe, its just a standard b16 with a LSD so nothing to powerful, its mostly used driving to work and back but also a bit of a spirited drive the odd time so I want something grippy. Perviously I have had T1-Rs which I loved but I am thinking about the yokohama s drives

s-drives are poor and so are the t1r's

For spirited driving and not wanting to spend too much money I would choose from the following:

Budget: Parada spec 2 (great tyre for the money and a lot better than t1r/s-drives)
Mid range: New Toyo R1R
: Yokohama AD08

How many miles would be expected from prada 2s? The size I want/ need would be either 195/50/15 or 195/45/15 and I've a budget of around £55 a tyre

iv got the new toyo proxes on mine and i can't fault them and the price was £205 for all 4 which i thought was good. Plus the prada specs 2's are good in the dry but not very good in the wet.

the T1R are a bit mushy on the sidewall but are good all weather tyre

Parada spec 2 are good for the price, sidewalls are better than the T1R but have a tendancy to pull in the wet due to the tread pattern

AD08 are a fantastic tyre but overkill if it's for a daily commute, ideal though if you want something grippy for a good weekend blast etc

Uniroyal Rain Sport2's
i have these on my EK4..

Great!!!!!!! simply great !!!!! i hit a 30 metre strecth of standing water about 1 inch deep at 35Mph earlier on today and i was amazed... its the first time i have used them properly in the wet but they are great they didn't pull me in or out of the water they just plowed on through it.. no aqua planning or anything i had full control !!!

great grip in the dry also.. worth a thought..

T1-R 195/50/15 for me just because there £140 for 4 & same as you potter to work & odd bit of fun drive in the dry & they do the job. Not perfect but for the price great. Would like some RS2 but seem a waste of money for just going to work :)

Thanks for the advice guys, ordered Prada 2s! £180 for 4 includind VAT and delivery!

Got them of black circles, always found them to be abit cheaper than camskills, usually a couple of £ a tyre but every £ counts!

T1Rs are a great budget tyre but can easily be beaten. I personally prefer the Parada Spec 2s but they are shocking in the wet. Dont last too long either!

Parada spec-2s are miles better than t1r-s!

I even had them on the track and they impressed me with loads of grip and not too much wear at all, just softer sidewall than a semi-slick lets them down but perfect for fast road

They are not that bad in the wet either as people say

Id ay they will mostly be used in the wet given are current summer over here, will se how they go! I personally loved the t1rs but then again i was going from having 4 double stars on the car straight to four toyos

Even cheaper from this place got a pair last week, free next day delivery too if anyone is after some...

I think I might have to try these soon as only a bit more than T1-R & less than RS2
