Hi, I'm looking at buying a ek9 pre-facelift with 80k miles and no mods with a couple of uk owners. Wondered what I should be paying? What would be a good price to pay? Cheers

Depends on history. And condition.
Anything from £4k upto just over £5k it seems for a nice one

Well the old saying is they are cheap for a reason lol.

My ek9 is totally standard never been registered in uk an has 71000 miles pre facelift and I wouldn't sell it for under 6k because you will never get one unmolested so pre pare to pay big for a good one

Unless you look to ireland to import. Honda prices are a good bit cheaper over here. The super clean ones are few and far between now at this stage tho!

Thanks. I've noticed you'll pay around the same for a v clean standard one as you would one that's got mods and several owners.

i bought a facelift black ek9 a few years back for 3800euro, made a few changes and sold it six months later for 5800euro
,bought my newest VSM facelift ek9 for less than the first one, but wont be selling it anytime soon, they are hard to get without rust nowadays, in ireland anyway!

I got a ek9 for sale but its on eBay at the moment :)
Nearly std, in cw and no rust!

you can get ones for ek4 money and some go for near dc5 money. Just depends on the spec and the condition. Id be looking for a standard unmolested one if i where to buy one again.

Just make sure you check it out properly, even bring a cheap alloy jack to inspect underneath.

If only it was as simple as getting what you pay for. Just because a car has a top dollar price tag does not mean your getting a mint top dollar car.

There seems to be too much confusion these day when it comes to a car being "Conditionally MINT" and "Conditionally CLEAN"

Still no that easy to know, how many member's on here have had modified cars, then returned to oem once they wanted to sell!

If i was you i would look to spend 5-6k on one. Look at few before you buy one.
Take someone with you who know's honda's well.

Thanks for your advice.:nice: viewed my second one today, drove 530 miles round trip to find it was not as I had hoped.

I would sell mine if the price is right, its a amazing example.

What was wrong with it

Nothing after this weekend, clutch bearing went, so i might aswel replace flywheel with a fidenza, oem clutch, braided clutch line, new engine mounts. Well defenatly worth a look man take your time, i am in no rush. you wouldn't be disapponted fact.

What's the issue? If its standard, it's standard.
Because a standard shock/exhaust/manifold has been removed and then re fitted it doesn't somehow change to be less superior...

Or am I missing something here?
You can drive a standard nine as hard and stupidly as a modified one also...
Probably causing more damage without a decent rad and baffled sump.

I meant usally the main reason people want a oem 9 is becuase its suppose to have been unmolestered ect. Tbf most 9z have been driven hard thats what there for! As long as it has been well looked after, then its fine.
