what spring rates are people running ?

Ive just put a deposit on a ek9 thats fitted with racing gear n1 coilovers and swift springs, 16/14 i think. Not too sure how well this will work on the road though

i used to run 22k front and 20k rear on my ek9, ******* awful on the road (spent most of my time correcting the steering), but on track it was exceptional

Ye i am a bit concerned lol. Ill have to see how they ride, i dont think the damping isa djustable, they are racing gear n1 coil overs, not sure if the camber/ toe arms are aftermarket. Probs goner raise the ride height a tad. Got a full set of hard race bushings to put on the car.

Steven what geo setup did you run on your 9, fairly aggresive camber? Did you run any rear toe.

Thanks, dan

to tame the rear end down a bit you could run some toe in, although i used to run 0 toe on the back as it offered incredible turn in with how stiff my car was ( full custom cage ), used to run it toed out before the cage but with the added stiffness i was forever countersteering out of corners with toe out!

i ran -4 degrees front camber, bit of extra front castor, 0 toe all round, -1.5 rear camber - so very aggressive in all!!

the overall suspension setup was pretty hardcore, also a vid of it in action

power steering properly removed (rack stripped and greased, no fluid ran at all)
tein N1 alloy bodied 2 way adjustable dampers with spherical top mounts
22k / 20k swift race springs
hardrace bushed
mugen RTA bushes
poly bushed ARB D bushes
buddyclub roll centre adjusters
3 point front strut brace
H brace
rear strut brace
j's racing inner wing braces

Ahh thank you, ill have to fit the bushings and go from there. Was trying to find ur ring vid before! Im going back in august august. Also the car is running a cusco diff, 1.5 way. Can u recommend good diff oil for it?

Thanks, dan

motul 300v 75w90 but make sure it is the "LS" version, used to run this with the spoon diff and it was amazing

good luck at the ring! i should have my new car bought and built by late summer, looking at a ring trip with some mates about late august / start of september :)

Ah brilliant. I pick the car up on the 1st of december. Did you do all your geometry yourself? If i can use my warehouse at work ill probs do mine myself. Ill get some pics up when i pick the car up, also need a nrw recaro spg seat cover, capital seating stock them i think.

Thanks, dan

did all the alignment myself yeah

capital seating do replacement covers and also replacement cushions if required!

Ok brilliant, its a race base. Should be pretty epic once ive finished, your car has bewn pretty much the inspiration behind the car ive bought and going to build lol. Goner run p1 15x7. Did you run spacers to increase the track? Or just purely to clear those awesome brakes .

35 offset P1's, with running very little camber and 195 tyres they JUST cleared the rolled rear arches

fronts needed 6mm to clear the brakes, i ran 10mm for the extra track width! they only cleared the front arches due to the camber, wore through multiple front arch liners with track use, haha

well all the parts are on their way, just bought some r888's too. still to make a decision on the coilovers, trying to find someone within budget, that will supply custom spring rates, any reccomendations?
decent price?

Haha thats mad, i cant lower the car too much due to my drive way.. gone be some trial and error to get it setup right. cant wait!

aye, mine was lowered somewhat substantially

Ye cant do that. Have a steep section at the start of my drive. No 4-1 manis either lol.
