hi there im quite new to this site , i have a JDM EG6 , and want to get a short shifter , am looking at getting a buddyclubb one or skunk 2 , anyone had one fitted to there car ? if so are they alot better than standard shifters , or just a pain ?

Buddyclub ones are good, skunk 2 is good too. Mfactory ones are good the shift throw is reduced with all 3 and it feels good, i've had a buddy club one before, that was good

as long as you get a well known name you should be alright, the risk with buying cheap ones from places like ebay is that they are not as strong and can snap.

I've got a buddy club duel bend one and it feels amazing dramatically reduces the throw.

And make sure you change the shifter bushes aswell to stop the gear stick wobble and spongyness lol.

short shifter are shite

its takes longer to change gear

and if you try and change fast they just destroy your gearbox

anyone that puts them into their cars deserve a good slap imo

i agree with this tbh. me and a friend both bought a short shifter at the same time and he fitted his before me. and after having a go of his i sold mine straight away. they feel awful.
i've recently bought ek9 linkage + shifter and thats good enough for me. and it cost me £35 which is less than most short shifters

My mates got a skunk 2 shifter feels really good i have got a dc2 shifter on mine a i wanted oem parts but it has made a big difference throw is shorter from the original eg6 one...

the general consensus is that the OE DC2 or EK9 shifter is short enough to feel good and help with faster shifting without destroying your gearbox

i ended up buying a skunk2 duall shifter and skunk2 weighted gearknob , and the throw is easy half what it was standard , makes the car alot better on accelaration aswell , is more stiff though but have had no problems with it , imo it is well worth the money , but the skunk2 one is expensive , mine came to £150 with delivery , and my mecanic fitted it for £30 , ordered a circuit hero extender too , can not wait till that comes :)
