Right guys really looking for some advice been reading through other threads but still so undecided.

Im looking to get a full straight through system for my ek4. Header, cat back, the lot. I have 2 in mind atm either the mugen TL or the spoon n1 was looking form oppinions on them really, or if any one has systems that will get better power gains/sound look nicer tht would be a great help.

Manifolds om really stuck on as i dont know much about them really so advice on them is really needed!!

Also would quite like to know some places to get them at decent prices :)

thank you in advance guys

98 spec manifold (DC2)
spoon, j's, buddyclub, any of them will improve over oem very little but they do

My vote goes for the Mugen, nice header, the catback exhaust + muffler is quiet and sounds nice on vtec.

Header, either one is good, spoon or mugen. :D

Spoon n1 is too loud for my taste.

my vote goes to buddyclub spec 3 had one on my old jordan and sounded and looked awesome in my opinion :)

what sort of power gains do the mugens get? compaired to other exhausts?

my mate had a buddy club on his jordan and i just found it way to raspy and i duno it just sounded realy tinny :/

was it a spec 2 by any chance?they are very tinny and raspy and sound very different to the 3

heres a wee video for u mate :

it was defo a spec 3 mate but it just sounded shocking! he had 4-2-1 mani decat and then spec 3 catback and it just sounded terrible imo

tegiwa header ( toda replica ) decat and any 3'' straight exhaust would be ok!

spoon twin loop is rubbish imo, it is a very restrictive exhaust and sounds the same as standard. get a fujitsubo Rm01a sounds really good on vtec and is still pretty quiet when cruising

really ?? you'd advise getting a 3" system... how many 3" systems can you buy for the EK4... i don't know of any..
it'd have to be custom made...

i was under the impression that a 3" exhuast on an Ek4 would be overkill..
also science wise would the gases even fill the pipe..??

just Q's mate not having a go just intreged..

even a stock b16 can gain power with a 3'' exhaust.
maybe later he add some cams some cr an exhaust is an investment thats my opinion.
we all know backpressure is bad and velocity is good.
i've seen some dynos that proves this try a search .

VRS
Full Race
Kteller
Thermal r&d
they all make good 3'' systems

and why not a custom exhaust with big resonators keeping sound as low as possible ?

i'm going for a custom 3'' on my stock internal b18 this summer and a tune later on september i'll keep you guys updated !

I'd agree, would do more harm than good on an EK4 if it wasn't ridiculously modded IMO

Thing is though, if your not pushing out enough exhaust gas it take's time to fill up the pipe.. Usually you fill up the pipe and each pulse pulls the one behind it out, increasing your velocity, but that doesn't work as effectively if you've gone overkill on the bore. Might be good for top end but you'll lose out low/mid unless you've got the mod's to match

right okay guys I think it has been narrowed down to either a spoon n1 as I really like the look of it or a fujitsubo rm01a what one out of those to would you guys recomend?? I think i have decided against the mugen as I dont want an exhaust that is silent lol

yeah you're spot on there mate, i fitted the mugen and was just annoyed that i had payed loads for a system 1db louder than stock and actually restricted my flow....

I'd say go for the fujitsubo purely as spoon n1 has been done so many times now. this does mean it is a great exhasut as i haven't seen one bad comment about them...

let us know your decision.....
