this is about what people prefer in exhaust styles as in over the LCA or under the LCA and i was reading somewhere something about the under LCA systems have better flow, so i just thought id post it up as im having a custom exhaust made up on my car next month and im undecided on what style to get, thanks for reading.

Depends what the car is for, how low it is and how stiff your suspenssion is..

Most people cant get away with a under tank exhaust.

thats true well its not low but spring rate are 10 and 12 and im running a hks hi power now but im upgrading to a 2.5" system and not sure weither to run that style again or just to get a normal over lca, as well as reading that the under lca flows better?

Anything with a straighter path will flow better.

But the thing is do you really need it? What is your setup?

Are you grounding the exhaust at all now with the under tank setup?

high comp b16a
EK9 cams
.5 over sized EK9 pistons
.5 head skim
head port and polished

so i do deff think i need the 2.5 system and i have grounded the hks under lca system yet but paying 450 for a new one i really dont want it hitting the floor at that price, what one would you say flows better over or under mate?

mild build either 2.5 would be more than enough,my fully built b18 is running a full j's racing catback and isnt restricting it at all

Would agree :nice:

Running N/A up to around 220 hp a 2.5" system around the normal route will be plenty.

Above 220hp you may see some small gains with an under tank system, larger 2.75" or 3" but until your up to the 245-260hp range its not really needed.

Under tank setups are not really that much better flowing than the round and over setups. Maybe slightly better but certainly not enough to be worth the chance headache of hitting a random bump in the road and crushing your system.

x2 altho when mine was mapped (with a manifold with 2 squashed pipes it made just over 230bhp,be interesting to see how it preforms with the manifold fixed now and another map :)

under axle exhausts are the job but have the car slammed on d front nd about 5-10mm higher at the back with a big tilt on it

under lca= track car

over lca= street car

my 3" exhaust goes over just fine, it does rub at times but i need to have it adjusted is all, ive seen 4" fit over the LCA.
