What engine oil you all using?

Castrol Edge currently.

0w-30

Use a hamp filter or whatever opie oils are selling :)

saw oil temps of 103c yesterday after a umm il say 'spirited' drive.

Millers

CFS 10w40 Fully synth

Hamp stubby filter

Changed every 2-3k miles.

it's Mobile 1 pro 2000 now that i think of it, comes in the 5L container from halfords

ran the new engine for 20 minutes on idle with mineral oil then dumped that out and had it mapped on semi synth and ran it on semi synth ever since

1400 miles later and the car runs sweet as and doesn't burn a drop of oil

with how frequently i change the oil and the fact it will never see much over 90 degrees (taken from the sump), i'm not going to change to a fully synth

Very interesting... Even on the ring I only saw a max of 107 deg at the sandwhich plate...

Perhaps it's complete overkill running £50 a bottle oils...

Halfords track day oil
5w 50 Semi synthetic
More stable oil temps when driven hard (around 100-110 degrees on a 20min session) than the Castrol 10w 40 (would easily hit 120 degrees after a couple of laps hard driving!) i was running and uses a tiny amount between services compared to the Castrol too.
Before people slate it as well, its made be Comma so isnt a 'budget' shitty oil!!! It just doesnt have all the fancy packaging and advertising added to the price tag! :)
My 340bhp b18 loves it

I'm still on Millers running in (mineral) oil and probably will be for the next 1000 miles :)

Most searches on forums will not show 3 letter words oil, dc2, ek9, as above try google "engine oil ek9.org"

As far as the question goes motul 6100 10w 40 and genuine hamp.

Different oils for different applications i suppose, ie turbo, oil cooler set-up, and if you were unlucky enough to have a honda thats going through more oil than petrol (not sayin it is or isnt) your most likely to be going down budget route.

Silkolene/Fuchs pro S, esther based, 5w30 is the shizzle. Only stuff i use in the EP3. Millers is pretty popular too.

i use castrol 5w30 fully synthetic, only because i couldnt find semi synthetic thou, semi synthetic is apparently better if u havent been using fully synthetic on your engine for its whole life..

ceo of spoon sports reccomends 10w-30 for daily and 1-2 track days a year

so i just use OEM honda oil, never had a problem and never burns a single drop :)

cant really argue or question the words of someone who has xxx amount of years into honda's especially type R's

5w-40 as recommended by Honda for the UK climate (10w-40 is also good for uk)
Using castrol edge on last change, seems good.
Hasn't used any at all over last 800miles so that's also good news :)

was using comma 5w30 fully synthetic but changing to 5w40 fully synthetic next change

I use Silkolene or Fuchs Pro S as its now called, 5w 30 - esther based.

Hamp Filter.

I only do about 3k miles per annum so change both each time and find that I never have to top up at all :)
