hi guys new to the site and looking to buy an ek9

currently driving a 250bhp glanza so i want a fast yet reliable ek9

what would i need to see atleast 200bhp if not more and how easy is it to get this sort of power?

thanks

bolt on's, good map and a gearset, aint all bout power ;)

gearing is the way forward man :nice:

have a look through the site using the google search function on the left hand side of the forum page looooooads of info on here :win:

Not too clued up on the 16b but wouldnt a good i/h/e setup and a map get you very near to that figure??

on a healthy engine yes round about that figure, with some bits and bobs :nice:

i was hoping a good mani, induction kit and map would 200bhp then an intake mani would push just over

and as for gearing this is a daily drive so i dont want to be on the motor at 70mph at 6krevs drinking fuel lol

some induction kits actually loose power over stock so need to pick carefully. But there is no reason you cant get close to/and over 200 hp with the b16b. with a good induction kit, header, and exhaust system. A remap would also help. As for gearing having run 4.4, 4.7 and 4.9 i can safely say 4.7 is what it should be at. Its managable on long journeys and nice for in and around town plus it really helps get the car up through the gears!

dont forget a mild port and polish, port matching inlet to head can give some impressive gains, tri cut the valves, all things that increase power!! oh and a nice free flowing straight exhaust pipe

Any of the b-series engines will piss 200hp, how fast can you afford to go?

Depends on the dyno you take it to. Take it to a dynojet then nothing (as proven in the past) take it to a dyno dynamic's then a lot.

If your looking for a nice power increace then a nice header/exhaust/intake/cams with a tune will work well :nice: Personally my advise though would be to boost it. Coming from a turbo car to NA you'll probably already have that itch there from day 1.

buy mine! :D:p

I have always thought of this myself i have a b16b the last time i dyno it with the neo i got 187 bhp bt dat is all change no with mugen twinloop catback, mugen cia im currently looking for a decent manifold im wondering how did you get up to 200bhp if you can pm me.

If you're going to rebuild your motor. Do it right and do it once. Why settle for 200bhp when you can make more? ;D
