When I bought my ek9 last year the previous owner told me it was completely stock, but I've since noticed I can drive bang on 30mph in 5th comfortably ticking over at 1700rpm. Is this common with the S4C box? I've also noticed it clunks slightly whist changing gear, but engaging cleanly. Can somebody give me an insight to this?

I've only tried it with the speedo so far, I'll try it with the gps tomorrow. I've looked at the mfactory gear calculator myself, I just wasn't sure how accurate there information was. I was hoping someone with a 9 could verify the information!

I'd imagine it would be pretty accurate, I would help you out but I have a S80 box in my 9, the FD's arn't the same :(

Can you comfortably drive at 30mph in 5th without the engine struggling?

Yeah, but mine does have 182lb/ft of torque.. No b16b lol

I will check later on today for you bud.. my 9 has a B16B and an S4C all standard...

To be honest my car is fine in 5th at 30mph but as for what rpm its doing at 30mph i dont know of the top of my head.. it pulls fine from 30mph in 5th though...

As said ill update you later dude...

I've just tryed this, reading the equivalent to 30mph on my speedo (still reads kph) and my RPM sits a 1500. It does sound like the engine is labouring a little but when i put my foot down it then sounds fine when it reaches around 1800RPM and onwards.

Oh, and this is a standard ek9.
