Hey guys just wondering if you can help me out. Got my renewal through from the DVLA as it expires at the end of this month.

I live in Scotland and they want either:-

£112.75 for 6 Months or
£205.00 for 12 Months.

Is this correct as according to Tim who lives in England his is only £180 for 12 months :angry2:

Just to confirm. I pay £180 per year on a 2000 (W) EK9, the same as what my brother pays on his UKDM DC2.

I thought that, if your car was first registered before March 2001, it's done on ENGINE size, so for 1595cc cars (EK9/4) it would be £180 for a year or £99 for 6 months I think.

Yup, although it looks like it goes up to £185 from March 13th (tomorrow)
Burnie's tax renewal document makes no sense.

Burnie

When the car was registered V5 doc. Did it state the car was registered after 2001?

Cause the tax figures (£) on your V11 are closely linked to BAND F for vehicles registered after March 2001, with CO2 emissions over 185.

On your document your C02 emissions are 191!

(the tax price figures may differ on your document to the website cause the site probably updated it with the Chancellors budgshit!

i only payed £99 for 6 months on my evo:clap:. i think you are getting robbed somehow!

£180 for a year..strange how its got the emissions on your form as it should just state engine cc i believe.

Read about this here ----> The cost of vehicle tax for cars, motorcycles, light goods vehicles and trade licences : Directgov - Motoring

Hope this helps :)

Your wrong mate, its not on engine size its on the Co2 emissions it puts out, think about it, if you have a 1.6 Turbo and its putting out 170bhp+ its hardly going to be cheap is it>?

Have a look at the link, C02 emissions, only apply to cars registered on or after March 2001.

So basically because my car was registered after March 2001 it is based on the cars emissions despite the fact the car was manufactured in 1998.

How do they know the emissions? and is 191g/Km the correct figure ?

So is the £205 for 12 months correct :(

How come online it shows (take it these are the new figures for the Budget?)

£115.50 for 6 months &
£210.00 for 12 months

Please Help

Hey man, I just looked at my V5 document.

There should be two dates on section B.

Date of first registration or something like that. (THIS SHOULD BE THE DATE THAT IT WAS REGISTERED IN JAPAN.)

So if your import was like July, 1998 you can write (01 July 1998)

And then under Section B1 it states, Date of Registration first in UK (or something like that).

This should be the date when you submitted the import papers to DVLA etc.

Seems like a registration error, when filling out the forms! CHECK on your V5 doc,

My V5 doesn't mention C02 emissions and the registration dates were obtained from the JAP DE-REG certificate.

Hope this helps

:nice:

i remember someone mentioning to me that it depends on how you register it ..something to do with light goods..or personal ..something weird...

its def 180 a year as this is what te actual DVLA charged me on my first registration,

i've just checked mine its going to be £185 for the year

thats for a 1999 registered over here in april 2006 with the CO2 rating showing 0 on the log book

Seriously guys in UK you are getting ribbed off for every step you make! My insurance for the EK9 is just above 500 Euros and the road tax only 90 Euros(approx 50 English Pounds). Come in Cyprus mate, lots of sun and beach lol :win:
