I sorta cooked my brakes round brands hatch and am after something abit better now! I'm after a set of fancy drilled/grooved discs front and rear, again ideally not brand new as can't really afford it, and some decent high performance pads track ready style :)

Cheers

I find pads much more important than the disc.
Depends on your budget but low budget pads that will get you round brands for 10-15mins at a time are EBC yellow stuffs(£75ish). They take a few good heat cycles to really get going though. First time out you'll cook them in about 10mins but after afew sessions they'll be fine.
Higher quality and real good track/race pad I'd recommend carbon Loraine rc6 or rc5(£125ish). These are very good pad and you won't fade these, if you do there's something wrong with your car or your braking lol
Be warned about the carbon Loraine pads, they are sintered metal and not the best for your paintwork, esp the bottom of the doors get peppered. But then track work isn't the best for your paintwork either, I'd rather the car stops than looks pretty tbh lol

Id also look at set of braided lines, ATE Superblue & MC Brace. Does make a good difference if you have good disks and pads.

4x100, and yes very true it's all about the pads, only trouble is my discs have seen better days :S my fronts have an insane lip on them! And the car has done a fair few miles I would expect without a disc change probably the stock discs are still on there, although reading there not bad discs at all but they did start to discolour :S I got greenstuffs up front atm and have cooked them I would imagine :/

Yeah I'm going to try and go for abit of a brake over hall, new pads discs and lines

Cheers

One other thing, where can I get those 2 bolts that hold the disc onto the hubs :/ mine are completely rounded! Couldn't even get impact driver on them

I have mtec discs on mine, although they've been fine with my car a friend did put a crack through one at the ring. I got the grooved ones but I'd probably go with blank discs next time as it was on a groove that my buddies one cracked.

I've got a set of used yellow stuffs but they are ek9 fitment. If I was you I'd upgrade to the ek9/dc2 brake setup. Then get good pads for that.

Wouldn't worry too much about braided lines, but I would deffo get better brake fluid as when your pads don't fade the fluid will boil instead

Ferodo ds 2500 are a great compromise pad, can use them on the road and they won't fade

I changed the fluid to 5.1 only a few weeks back :) I'm thinking of doing a 282 conversion now and am trying to get a price in my head for the kit so if anyone has any 282 disks preferably some fancy ones id be interested, again ideally 2nd hand as new is dolla :)

Cheers
