toyo T1R on ek9 - horrendous

problem is after taking massive step down to ku31 from high end tyres i just cant run the kumho again hence goin for ad08, gonna kill me in the wallet but tyres are so important, i can take ad08 on track as well and not be worried and have some ok fun

if you dont track or push car on roads all the time ku31 is ok

Thats why i use my track wheels with R888 for drivng on track, are ad08's not overkill on the road?

They are only good in the wet if you've havent driven a car on Eagle F1s.

I had F1s before my T1Rs and I was shocked at how **** they were in the wet in comparison.

Every time I hit the brakes I get a foot massage, the T1Rs cut in the ABS so easily it would be funny if it wasn't so unnerving. That's in the dry too!

I agree as well...had a four door Ek4 on 18s with T1Rs and the yworked very well...but on my Ek9 i was using 15s n they were **** for handling dry or wet...im currently using bfgoodridge...dry its great but wet i would rate at 7 out of 10.

Haha I see what you mean about the wobbly side wall, when I was pushing my car hard around the corner, my friend who was chasing behind me said that it looked like my tire was going to come off the rim, they arnt the worst tires in the world, but you could buy better tires for they money that you would spend on them.

im running t1r's on the front and some eagle f1's on the rear, front felt foul at a track day recently, only running them down because i was given a full set from a mate who binned his car earlier in the year. not bad for freebie's lol,

What would you recommend then Iceman ?

i have a em1 and i am running a set of toyo t1rs 195/50/15 with nitrogen and there **** hot i find, but they are a soft compound, there is a few new tyres on the market by falken and federal there are ment to be **** hot,

even though im sellin some wheels with r888 on at the mo i dont rate r888 on track (i only used them on last track day as happened to be tyre on car), dont get me wrong, better than majority of road tyres but for what is essentially a semi slick much better out there, then again most people who havnt tried lots of tyres love em, fair play

some argue ad08 overkill on road, again fair enough, i dont though, i love great tyres on road and huge bonus is i can drive to track downpour or dry, have a good day and come home and carry on drivin daily if need be, slicks or semis on seperate wheels is what is best but for days i just cant be bothered great option

this isnt recommendation thread, just brought back memories from several years ago and was more of me havin laugh in my head thread

loads of good tyres out there, most arent available in u.k sadly but good to see ad08 and rs2 etc appear on market in last few years, i was importing rs2 and prior ad07 before they were ever available in u.k but cost was killing me so last year opted to run totally normal road budget tyre in the ku31, did its job ie daily driving with little fun, 0 track use etc, i just cant get myself to do it again

ku31 are so good tyres.

Also for dayly driving hankook V12 are ok, i change my front tyres (T1R) with these better in every condition.
T1-R have a soft sidewall, with a strong suspension set-up they appear like ****.
My friend already test toyo R1R and he says this: Strong sidewall like RE010, like RE010 on dry asphalt but better than RE010 with wet.
HE finished a set in 16000km. There is also an advertisement on every tyre: "Don't use under a temperature lower than 5°C".
Now He swichts to AD08. He hopes to do more km, AD08 are only worse than R1R on wet.

yes,

great tyre in toyo line up is the RA1 but not available in europe

im running T1R's all round on my integra and i have 2 say i think they are poop aswell...feel stable enough at speed in the wet on a motorway but the understeer is terrible and lock up so easily...i used 2 ride wit eagle f1s and they were superb all rounders...quality in the wet and if they still made them with the assymetrical pattern i would deff still be on them!

well my new decent tyres came start of week for my proper car, just need to decide what wheels to put them on car as slowly hopin to change overall chassis/handling/setup so wheel size/specs are critical

current wheels are 6.5" and 90% sure im gonna go to 7", have brand new set of team dynamics pro race 1 still in boxes which are pefect but white and want black for daily used wheel (bought them for track use only but plans changed again)
