Timing belt tensioner

Hey folks, was im away to be doing my timing belt shortly and got a belt supplied with the car but looking for a tensioner. Is the teg type r one the same? And is there a difference between the uk and jdm spec tensioner?

I think it is the same, mate, not 100% sure!

you should change the water pump aswell if your doing the cambelt! just to be safe! I wanted mine changed but my mecanic didnt do it as he said other one looked fine :(

If you do decide you want to change water pump let me know as I have one for sale! :)

get a new mechanic...
 
no point in changing the water pump if its ok. check it for play if none just leave it so mechanic prob checked it. but if you wanted it changed he should have done it for you. as for tenstioner the one off a b16a2 is the same as b16b so would think the one off the b18c is the same
 
Also is the tension on the belt the same as b16a2? ie 2 teeth on the camshafts like it says in haynes for b16a2?
