Alright guys, im considering selling my ej and buying an eg but just wondering what peoples thoughts are on them? Personally i love the shape of them, are they easy to find parts for etc? Anything to look out for on them? thanks :nice:

EG's are amazing! I used to have an EJ9 and swapped it for an EG and glad i did, look so more aggressive IMO.
Parts are just as easy to find as EJ/EK's, no problems there. Dont get me wrong though, EK shape is lovely too.

How hard is it to get hold of an eg6 boot? as im not keen on uk number plates, have to be import ones lol

keep your eye out on the parts section on pistonheads or look for a car thats being broken with the rear import boot

never owned a ek9 so cant comment on them but ive had 2 ek vti's and then bought my eg and to be honest this eg is so much better than the 2 ek's ive had, handling wise especially

never had any trouble finding parts for mine, just as easy as my 2 ek's

I like my EG4, only downside is that rust seems to be more common amongst EG's as they are that little bit older than EK's but repair panels are available.

i have a sir bootlid i bought for my eg altho its rotten so just going to sell the bits i bought and break the rest of it,shame really as i really really wanted it as a daily lol as said ive a spoon rep spoiler, amber corners, sir bootlid and all the original bits if ur interested in anything give me a shout

Really really tempted to do this, any common faults with them other than rust of course? cheers for the feedback :)

my favorite honda chasis but then again i've never own a EK9 and I probably never will since i live in the states...so dont be affraid and go for it you dont have nothing too loose at the end of the day it is a honda and you can't go wrong with that.....

EG = Exquisitely Great

EG6 SiR II is the one to go for if you can, i used to cherrish my EG6..
one day i'll have an EG6, an EF9 and my EK9... :win:

very good car i have eg6sir2, Handle great and feel great,Look the business to, parts are everywere for them but for some reason in ireland egs are more expensive than egs in the uk.

in my opinion the eg chassis seems a lot less solid than ek ones, and the interior is more noisy in path holes etc. The ek is better made in all aspects

they are excellent cars mate i had one before the dc2, parts are quite easy to find. As for the footlid i totally agree that the jdm one is much better looking than a uk in my opinion.

Thats strange.. i wouldn't say there is much in it in terms of noise in the cabin..

i mean no offence by this just discussing it further ...

The chassis: are you sure the one's you've tried have been decent example's.. The EG6 i owned has Feels coilovers on it and the chassis was amazing, Very Tight, very responsive, couldn't fault it.. i know it had coilovers but still the chassis was Great.. I'm just wondering if the ones you have tried have had fresh bushes and well looked after suspension components, as i really couldn't fault the chassis at all... Just curious to hear why you thought it was less solid. If you did thats fine just wandered if you could elaberate.. Just curious dude ;)

Stick with the EJ9 mate, newer lol Plus yours has got low mileage, mint and rust free! How much are the EG's you are looking at and how much do you think you will fetch for your EJ? Got to think about how long you want to keep the car for too, as yours stands it will last you as long as you want it, a high mileage EG maybe not so...

Also thought this. I used to have 96-00 shape and personally I feel my eg has better handling and guy I bought my sir off of told me he also personally preferred eg's chassis. All down to preference but reckon that eg he had driven needed some parts replacing. Unless it was a 1.3 or something.

no offence taken mate hehe
i have several examples with stock eg6 eg3 egs vti with coils even the ej2 my brother owns which has zeal coilovers on. All these in comparison with my ej9 which has a complete coilover kit asr swaybars, energy bushings bla bla, are way less solid. But the same goes if you compare stock ek chassis with eg ones. The egs feel more compliant, you fell the car vibrating in pathholes and while cornering i dont feel it as one body. The differences arent so dramatic but you can notice them. Even honda itself mentions that the body rigidity of ek has been increased to 25% than the eg.

Best of the Bunch. True JDM shape and 200kg less isn't to be frowned at. Parts wise they are good and share many parts with del sol and dc2. Also look super low :)

The main reason EG's feel softer is that they are older and generaly been through a fair bit more abuse.

My EG6 feels nothing like it did when I bought it 5year ago but then I have really put mine through ALOT of B road abuse and here on the Island there are some really chopy roads.

Personaly if I was on the market I would be looking for a low mileage only EG6 unless it just really felt nice and tight on road test.

All cars get soft and loose with age and use. Think mine is past its comfy daily driver days as it has to many rattles and is starting to feel to soft as a chassis. So the only thing for it is a nice welded in full cage and a striped interior. :naughty: Then save for an EK9, DC5 or Accord R as a daily driver :nice:
