ahh my blood is boiling reading this i wasnt lucky enough to catch the ****s that tried to nick mine, i shud say they were lucky i would of done some serious damage to them and well done for your restraint u wud of got done for any harm u caused but of course u cud always say self defence as he had a weapon. glad u's are ok.

In England, is it legal to even own a gun for personal protection? Here in the US (California) we would have just shot the theives dead! (they don't call it Killer Cali for nothing) Here, is legal to shoot someone to protect life and property; but its illegal to handcuff or zip tie someone (what you did, would be considered false imprisonment and you would be arrested).

Not for protection I don't think, although you can get a gun license. Usually a shotgun first, then have to apply for a permit later on for a handgun etc after you've had your shotgun for a while. I.e. a year or 2.
If the laws over here were like certain states in America, no ****er would dare try and steal your car in fear of death. lol
Well done for catching the guy. I'm paranoid myself at the moment, was followed from my work earlier by 2 suspicious guys in a 300zx. Probably trying to find out where I lived, but took them on a wild goose chase.

Yep that's certainly true. Good news...they caught the other guy. Went in today for a positive identification. Both got a prison sentence for attempted armed burgulary (or something like that). Also found out that they are "good friends" with, (personally, I think they are the drugs dealer of) a person that lives in our block of flats so we shall see what happens with that :/
