Hi all

Wondering if anyone has managed to fit one of these to their EK?

I have just spent a few hours today trying to fit this 'bolt-on' item, including the top and lower strut bars. The bottom of the X brace seems to just about fit OK to the top of suspension.

The problem I have right now is that the top seatbelt bracket (female) doesn't align with the male bracket coming off the X brace, they actually sit at different angles which I can't see how they will align and a bolt can go through it :angry2::angry2:

Anyone have any installed picture of this area? Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Ray

Any pictures of your problem? Is it definitely for an EK? Have they sent the right one.

The light was fading so didn't get a chance to take pics, will try and get one up tomorrow.

I have asked them whether it is for an EK but didn't get a definitive answer.

Hmm.........:naughty:

I also have a problem with their 3 front strut brace, but that's for another time/thread

I've PM'd them, so hopefully being a dealer on here, they will come back to me with a satisfactory response.

and have a search and you'll see for yourself....the phone attitude does it for me...

Will bear that in mind, but don't want this to be a Tegiwa bashing thread for now, I'd rather they come up with the answers. Sending the items back for a refund is a last resort.

You need to install just the X first then do the upper and lower bars after. It seems you are struggling. If you still want the bonnet we can fit it all for you.

Hi Johnny

I'll post some pics tomorrow. I have done just that, install the X brace first, but it's not going onto the seatbelt bracket as they are at different angles.

I will give it another go tomorrow, but does the rear seats need to be removed for this install?

Although I'm no pro mechanic, I'm no dummy with tools, the install is not as easy/straight forward as it seems.

shame the pics cut out the top 2 mounts I really want to see :(

It's obviously tricky as its connecting 4points but shouldn't be too difficult. The feet can be adjusted too with the amount of thread you have coming out of the X.

After some persuasion today, the x brace and bars are now fitted to my car :nice:

The job is a bit fiddly but looks good and the rear seats are also functional. The c-pillar bar acts as a new head rest, but will need some padding.

I'll post some pictures up when I start my build thread, just need to buy a new camera first :(
