Supercharged EK9 for sale


That should be the ultimate EK9!! This is the car that I would be willing to pay the $28K and not the Spoon one, not that the Spoon built isn't fast but a supercharged EK9 has so sexy engine bay and must be a lot faster than the Spoon one :clap:

not really, that supercharger is a roots style, generally they only add about 30-60whp, some people have great success with them but for the most part honda's with those superchargers dont exceed 250whp, im sure the spoon ek9 is putting out 250whp+ if i had to guess id say there equal in performance and beauty :nice:

Damn!! I forgot that the Spoon built has a K series engine and I thought it has a B16.....:angry2: That's why I when I saw 250 whp I thought you got crazy :nerv:
Now that I'm thinking it again, the Spoon must be really close if not equal to the supercharged one :woot:
I prefer the look of the red filled engine bay!
 
have only driven it on the road once,because its not registered yet, but it spun the wheels very easily,its a fast car.
 
sorry its not been dynoed,how much power do you think it will have ???
 
it has a 98 spec jdm integra stainless manifold,a stainless middle section,k&n filter,its got a thicker head gasket with unknown internals dont know how much boost its running either so its going to be hard to say??
i just want to know roughly how much bhp a supercharger makes on this car?
nobody over here seems to know that much about superchargers.

Yea, I believe its because this mod is very unusual for an EK and there are not enough clues.....:) But I think around 30 bhp is the average horsepower the supercharger gives to the EK9. This is what you are gonna hear from those few people who did it :clap:
 
thanks mate, just trying to roughly guage how much power it has,after i spoke to you earlier i decided to have a little shot ,this was only the second time i've driven it,shouldnt have really:nerv:the police would throw the book at me lol, but yeah my faith in the car has been reinstalled it doesnt drive that much different from an n/a car, just that its got a bit more power and it sounds amazing with the charger,it felt strange though, didnt really feel the crossover to vtec..didnt rev it passed 9k either ..it was already flying lol.:)

Yea, the supercharger cannot be compared with turbocharger in any way. Turbo takes any car to another level.
The reason why you feel the vtec kicking is because an N/A EK is a completely different car before and after vtec. EK9 makes around 125 bhp just before vtec kicks in (6200 rpm) and 175 bhp in fractions of a second when it kicks!! The rest hp until 8200 rpm. WOW!! That's a technology!! :wow:
So, the supercharger covers the lost ground in midrange since it lacks lots of torque there compared to high rpm :( and that's why you feel no kick

30-60whp over stock. so around 220-250whp would be my guess. does it have an intercooler/aftercooler? if not id say its closer to the 220.
 
hey blinx,no its not got an intercooler etc but does also have the uprated map sensor and head gasket dont you think it would be more than 220bhp,the pulley measures like 4 &a half inches from one side to the other,is this putting out big boost or what? could you explain this to me as you seem to know your superchargers.

220whp = 260bhp

its hard to really say how much its putting out since we dont know the boost level, but even if it was set at 12psi which is near maximum efficiency, i still dont think it would break 250whp, if it was intercooled then i think you could make a lot more power, but the fact that its not is what leads me to believe the boost is not set that high.
