Hey guys right as some of you probaly remember i posted a message regarding getting caught doing 101mph....So-

As i probaly wont get covered on the EK9 if i buy one, im trying to think of a cheaper alternative until i find out the extent of the charges, I dont think a jap import will be suitable and i have a budget of about £4500-£6500.

I drove a saxo VTS, my mates ZR 160 and a few other non imported cars, These 2 are roughly the same performance wise, what do you guys think???

Regards.

I've driven the ZR160 and thought the handling felt ok but it didn't feel anywhere near 160bhp. I would personally go for Toyota Startlet Glanza V....My mate has one and it is absolutely rapid, he's spent a bit of money on his though. They are 1.3turbo standard and can easily make 200 brake without too much hassle.

Cheap insurance too ;)

What he said man^^^^. Cheap tax and insurance, plus they're pretty rapido even with minimal mods

Low mileage mk1 172 or 172 cup, grp16 insurance, far better drive than the VTS or ZR160, great car for the money. Spend the surplus on uprating brakes & suspension.

The 172 cups a flying machine as far as track days are concerned but i recall a clio 172 against a saxo VTS around knockhill and the VTS was a car length behind it all the way, not bad for a 1.6 i suppose, although its back to "fingers crossed reliability" with the french cars, lets face it they make wine and french sticks stick to what your good at lol
