hi guys im jus wondering how much power does a stock 98spec integra type r give out at the wheels (whp).

Thx

my ek with 98 spec ITR motor made 176WHP and on another dyno made 165WHP if i remember correctly.

Dynos fluctuate but its around that figure. I had custom header + exhaust with blow.

woahhhhh thats pretty powerful, has it been fine tuned at the dyno aswell???

No tune at all, stock ITR ECU. On stock filter too.

My stock EURO spec ITR made 183WHP, only mod was air filter. No tune.
Other dino had 210bhp.

My stock ITR with brand new engine (bought from HONDA) with 4000 miles, made 201 bhp, 402 runs in 14.785 sec

So it lost only 7bhp throught the drive train....i think those dyno's were a little on the optimistic side.

Flywheel hp should be about 195 to 200hp.
with about a 30hp loss in the the trans. = 169whp

My dc2 made 171 whp, dyno located at 5000 feet above sea level

I've read tegs which had run a 14.2 down the strip and where dyno'd to 170whp. Mine did it in 14.2 but it was my first ever launch and I had crappy tyres. I would put mine at around 175-180 whp. But that's alot of mods ;)

I think stock the 98 was 198bhp at the fly and 96's the same but had a shorter gear ratio in the box so where infact quicker. 96's are > 98s but now I start the war between the two :p

Spot on! :thanks:

Alllllllsoooo the UKDMs were abit slower than the JDMs. Reason being is the JDMs where tuned for higher ron fuel. The UKDMs where tuned for normal unleaded so don't benefit if you use vpower or higher ron fuel.

Any imported car from Jap land should be run on high octane fuel otherwise you will do naughties to the engine in due time.

they are pretty much the same, minor ecu and exhaust diff. the 98 sepc ukdm had a shitty exhaust manifold. if you put 98 jdm ecu and exhaust they are the same car.... over hear they both dyno the same wit the fuel.

my ukdm 00 teg dyno'd 198bhp flywheel and 139 foot pounds it had 169 at the wheels so a good result. for the price you can buy oem ecu and exhuast it wouldnt bother me which car i got esp since ukdm are a fair bit cheaper

hold on, it was the 98 spec that had the shorter ratios in the first 3 gears not the 96 spec.

96 spec has same gears as EK9 im sure with the 4.4 final drive.

Nope, they were the same in the first 3 gears matey. But shorter in the 4th and 5th gears. Yes the 96 spec had 4.4FD but the 98 had 4.7. Meaning quicker for the 96 in 4th and 5th.

.......96Spec........98Spec
1st....3.230.........3.230
2nd...2.105.........2.105
3rd...1.485.........1.485
4th...1.107.........1.034
5th...0.848.........0.787
F/D...4.400.........4.785
