Ste's S2000

Thanks :)

So as i said i went to Oulton park 17th feb, it was soaking in the morning but started to dry ou in the afternoon.
I was very pleased with the current setup and found the car to be much more planted and controlable on the limit.

Had a good play with a new shape Audi RS6 V10, boxster S track car, lotus elise, lotus exige and a ktm xbow amongst others. I did get a few videos but i kept forgetting to turn the camera on

I used a full set of halfords cheap **** rear brake pads on the day, and ended up driving home with the rear pads on the metal  So as soon as i got home i ordered some stoptech rear discs and ferodo DS2500 rear pads to match the front.

A few pics from the day........

I'll pop a vid up when i get a chance :-D

Well, as i said above my rear brakes where dead after the track day. I made the stupid mistake of just chucking some rear halfords pads on and they didnt even last one track day!

So, when i got home i ordered some rear ferodo DS2500 and stoptech discs to match the front. They came today so i went ahead and installed them after work

Boring, but essential

I have bought another set on new wheels  (thats 4x set of wheels i have now  )

They are another set of OEM S2000 17's like my original silver wheels, only these have been powder coated black by thewheelspecialist in manchester and i must say the finish pretty much perfect :D
I also got some front bridgestone potenza RE05 tyres as these will be my daily driver wheels and i'll keep the silver ones for track rims with the R888's.

I then decided i needed a de-cat, so i ordered a 70mm Berk industries one with built in cel fix

Raspy is the best sound :nice:

Really like what your doing with this. Its great to see it being tracked aswell :drive:

Some more progress, i decided to install some brake ducting as this will help my brake life on track, i'm hoping it will stop me warping brakes and increase pad life. Since theres no 'off the shelf' kits available i custom made one, i wanted it to look as factory OEM as possible......pics.

Air pump in the way, so i removed that (had to put a resistor in to avoid engine light)
This runs when the car is cold, to help warm up the cat to reach emissions sooner, wont be needing that then...

I also just ordered another set of R888's for the front track rims

Very nice S2000 buddy, looks great with the new wheels!

How did you decide what alignment to setup? Did you or your garage decide?

I just did lots of research on what alot of people on track and road use, and decided on a happy medium set-up. So far, i'm loving it

Do you not need to 'counter' the Toe In on the Rear with equal Toe Out on the front? I'm by no means a specialist, I just do a lot of reading like yourself.. Ive heard/read this a few times.

If its works for you them its spot on I suppose, just putting it on there. Lol :nice:

Got some 'H' badges made by my mate lee, so chucked them on and took a few pics.....

More rear toe makes the rear more stable, but at the cost of some responsiveness. I personally prefer a car that will slide and is easier to catch, than a car that is less likely to slide but if/when it goes its more difficult to control.

If that make sense lol
