Stereo head unit?

Basically i got my EK9 last summer.. and the headset doesnt work/turn on ect, but it still takes cd's in and ejects them.. i never was really fussed because i love listening to my car anyways.. but i decided i want it working now, i've heard i need certain things to make it work, but i just wondered if anyone knew, or if they reckon i need a new headset?

you probably need a new headset, finding out what's wrong with it is the first step, and it is definitely possible, but imo even you knew exactly what was wrong it with it, ripping it apart and getting the part isn't easy, for the trouble, i'd just get a new one.

i blow a circuit in mine 2 summers ago, i like to think i know a fair bit about car audio so i decided it'd be a fun project to fix it... 2 years later it's still sitting in my closet. treat yourself to a nice new head unit
