starting problem

hi guys, im new to this business and wondering if any of you could sort of help me out.

my ek ran out of petrol and ive filled it back up everything and since that it hasnt started, i checked the spark there was nothing so i tried new leads nothing happened so i tried a new distributor and same happened but since i done this it turns over twice and the wines really fast like it looses all of its compression!?

and i dont really wonna pay for a garage to look at it and not fix it :/

tried jump starting it yet? flat battery? starter motor?
 
yeah ive tried jump starting it, and a new battery. ill have a check of the starter motor

somtimes when you run it dry IF THE fuel filter hasnt be changed in a while it may be all ruined so the paper may blown down the fuel lines and block the injectors

happened to me once took for ever to work it out i ended up buying bigger injectors and just blowing through the fuel pipe and sludge paper came out :(

take off your fuel filter and tip some fresh petrol though see what happens comes out and give it a shake ( when empty of petrol) to see if its dislodged any gunk or paper
 
When you turn on the key can you hear fuel pump priming?
 
Yeah there's petrol to the fuel rail and stuff, but its not giving any power to the spark plugs?!
 
If the engine sounds like it has no compression when cranking then first step would be to carry out a compression test
