Hi guys on my phone so search function isn't working -.-

So, What tyre size did EK9s come with out of the factory, 195 50 15s or 205 50 15s?

Thanks alex

But you should rather use 195/50/15 as it is a much better performing tyre that would give u instant results.

Also makes the ride a little harsher.
If your running decent tyres anyway it
Would make a very minimal difference..

Standard size is 195/55/15

But I use 195/50/15

I like them better and they're cheaper too :)

The real difference is the price. I run quality 55's because that's what's meant to be on it and it handling feels the same on both to me.

Harsher? Really... by a minuscule? How many of us here with Type Rs care about that?

A decent 195/55 tyre would equate to a less decent 195/50 tyre.
A less decent 195/55 tyre would get blowned away by a decent 195/50 tyre.

The rigidity of the tyre side-walls between a 195/55 and 195/50 is huge. Steering response increased, road feedback increased, final drive gearing is slightly shorter.

Theres a huge difference mate. Just adding my 2 cents on experience with those sized tyres. :)

Wait so your saying due to sidewall stiffness there is a huge handling difference. But this huge difference due to the stiffer sidewall flexing less doesn't effect comfort?

Comfort is always traded for performance.

I get comfort tyres for comfort cars and performance tyres for performance cars.

The comfort differences is minuscule. Its not even worth mentioning compared to the gains of a 195/50 over a 195/55 tyre.

If your concerned about comfort, stick with Stock suspension. Theres way more difference there.

I do have stock suspension thanks :)
Anyway,
Its a fact there is a comfort trade off by ignoring OEM spec and going with a 50 rather than a 56. :)

Yes but very minuscule. You wont feel it. Tyres get noisier and harder as they age. If your a comfort freak, you can change your tyres every year lol jk

Went for the 50 profiles In the end , 4 x yoko spec 2's = £180 and fitted for free ;-)

Great tyres in the dry! Interesting in the wet.

going to 50 means lower ride too. Why you think honda didn't opt for this size from the beginning?

seems to be the norm for these tyres, good in the dry. tricky in the wet.
