Just wanted to know if ssr type c would last on a daily driver. mostly on bumpy country roads. i have read on some sites that they can be damaged easily and others they say their grand.

Anyone here have experience with them? :thanks:

there a very light wheel i wouldnt use them or regas for a daily driver wheel over here and thats from experience

I've been running a set of 16s (215/45/16 boots) on my DC2 for years without issue.

fook me whats the point in buying wheels if you cant use them daily, what sort of butter are the made out of...

What are your roads like? i would be driving on country roads all the time so bumps, humps and the odd pothole :nerv:

i know ya if there as fragile as people say they are what was the point in making them at all. Suppose they were only made with the track in mind

theyll be fine,i ran advan rg's on my jordan for ages and hit bumps, humps, been airborn etc haha and they were fine,no buckles nothing :)

Std UK british farmtracks, they have hit their share of pot holes and done a lot of miles, I bought them second hand so no idea what they went through before that (certainly scrubbed a few kerbs). I've also powdercoated them which some people would have you believe turns them into cheese!

Seriously if you want some just buy them and run them, they are a good strong wheel in my experience (will probably buckle one next week now I've said this :)).

I'm shocked this is the first thread I've saw about using wheels as daily wheels and it's regarding a forged wheel from SSR, nevermind the amount of cheap replica shite on todays market!. Any wheel can suffer damage from hitting a pot hole, I'd say man up and use them! I have just bought myself a set to replace my regamaster's :nice:

Ya sounds like what happens on my roads :)), love rg's aswell cudnt find them in my fitment though. have a choice of ssr type c with my exact fitment or gramlights 57 maximum with slightly different offset. decisions.. lol

i dont have potholes down here i have craters!:))

but ya really do want them mostly for there lightweight, think gamlights 57 maximum look better but there nearly 6kg a wheel

lol i know what your saying, i thought the same until i read some horror stories. the lad im getting wheels off did say he saw cracked type c's before :nerv: but from what people are saying here they might be ok??? the ssr's are gonna cost a good bit you see, id cry if i damaged them ha!

I had 15" type C on my teg and drove it daily and never had a problem.. Also had rega's on it and no problems.. If you hit pot holes of course your going to have cracks and buckles but they can be avoided...

i presume you mean going into the pothole at speed? if i have to go over any i would be taking it handy like?

any more opinions?forgot to mention these will be wrapped in 195 55 15 ad08 tyres which is supposed to protect the wheel a bit more?
