Thinking about changing my exhaust.

Currently have a Skunk2 Megapower and really fancy changing to a Spoon N1 backbox with a custom true 2.5" centre section.

Would I notice any difference other than noise? I dont want to lose any performance.

Also since the spoon has a 2" bottle neck would it be worth getting this cut out to a 2.5" so I have a 2.5" all the way ?

I had one without the bottle neck that was off an eg i think. I would go for the N1 personally it was my favourite sounding exhaust. Very raspy

Yeah heard a few people cutting the bottle neck out. Just dont want to lose any power going from my skunk2 just now. Just love the look of a N1 on an ek civic.

I thaught the new ones with the plaques didnt gave them? Maybe wrong just thats what i was told when i bought mine. I had a free flowing Top-fuel system on before it and didnt notice any difference. Appart from the fact i no longer have a 4" cannon at the back of a 1600 hatchback lol

Worth noting that if you cut up the spoon it's going to be worth less money afterwards,
Better flowing or not.
I've swapped my exhaust recently from a 2.5" system to a true 2.5" but put quite a restrictive silencer in. I can't feel the difference in any power so doubt it's lost much if any.

Tbh unless your going to tune your engine right up I'd go with a sound that suits you best rather than trying to squeeze power out of it.

Mega power is only 60mm isn't it?
That's 2.36" is that outer diameter?

As mentioned above, cutting up your spoon n1 will also cut it's price. Had a axel back before which wouldn't suit my b pipe. Sold it rather than cutting it into pieces to be left with a "Modified Spoon N1"

Not worth the nominal power increase

Yeah haha thats why I kinda what to change the looks of the spoon are much more appealing!

I know what you are say about cutting it but I will be putting a B18c in my car hopefully this year and will be doing trackdays, so I am wanting the best performance from it. Just wondering will cutting the bottle neck out make that much difference if any ?

60mm inner diameter it is.

I know it would be a shame to cut a spoon N1 but if it was going to give me better gains for the track ect then I would do it, but if the 2" bottle neck does not really make a difference then I would probably just leave it alone :)

Ive got a True custom 2.5" b pipe made by solid fabrications and a gen II spoon n1 which was cut at the back bx and 2.5" piping put on and angled and its so much better then the spoon b pipe. more punchy and better throttle response :D

I would say the bottle neck is defo a restriction. Worth noting that 2.36" is what most 2.5" systems are on the inner. Well that or close enough.
I'm not sure you'll see any gains from swapping to the spoon tbh. But it is a lovely sounding exhaust for sure!
Maybe get yourself a custom exhaust? Cost will be similar.
I'll get the inner diameter of my boyz exhaust to see what that is.

Yeah I know what you are saying I would probably just get it cut out and I would be getting a true 2.5" system so the inner diameter will be 2.5" as I will need this for my B18c

Yeah you could do that, you'll probably need a silencer in the b section to make it track legal if you go 2.5" inner

Maybe so, I will see how it is without any :p haha

Also does anyone know the difference between a gen I and gen II spoon ?

Haha will be loud! Spoon n1 is loud with a box in the centre! Lol

Hello guys! I have skunk2 too and it's too loud! It's empty and with this 4" cannon everyone in street hears me and that's really bad if you want no troubles with cops... any ideas about another exhaust without that scream?

My skunk2 is nice and quite off vtec driving about normal it isnt that loud at all. But once on vtec it gets really loud :)
