Spoon EK9 goes Nurburgring.... AGAIN!

Some quality pics there! Looks like You were using R888's, how where they performing? Were they overheating somehow??

P.S. Your EK9 is a good eyecatcher, look at the people in the background in the first pic :)
If you drive normally R888s shouldn't overheat on the Ring. Zandvoort is a real tyre and braketester and there the R888s hold up really well on both my EK9 and my Elise.

R888s are master! Really like them!

She looks like a serious track slag! I'm licking my lips at the sight of it. How many time have you been there??? :)

They are very good for a few laps (like on a trackday), but more than 4-5 on a typical circuit and they start loosing grip from overheating. Thats what I think after killing a few sets. But the ring is definetly not a typical track ;) hence my question.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

HA HA just noticed that! Was probably the Spoon N1 sounding like a swarm of angry wasps that got there attention! lol

R888's not had any issues at all if anything a few cold slides in the 1/4 of a lap. I have done at most 2 laps in a row even in 40 deg heat and they seem absolutely fine. As mentioned its not really a conventional track as its hard to push it to limits!

Thank you, i've been 4 times in total! :drive:

I do agree that they will deteriorate in grip level at a certain point relating to temperature.

This depends on the compound (G-GG-GGG) a little bit. I have been using the GGs so far. Considering the level of overall grip they maintain even in sessions of 30-45 minutes I think the R888s are very good tyres. Yokohama A048s are also a good alternative, got these on my EK9 right now.

Ring is not a typical track indeed. But overheating isn't a real problem at the Ring.
