spoon calipers question?

i don't know if has been ask before.
do spoon calipers work on 15" desmond regamaster evo wheels. my friend got this wheels the other day and he want to buy the spoon calipers too. but he is not sure if they clear or not. thanks for any help
 
if they are +42 offset or higher numerically...no, they will not work unless you use spacers.
 
Nope regas in 15" will not work with spoon calipers without the need for spacers
 
I just tested fit my Spoon caliper with 15 inch Spoon wheel (same as Regamaster EVO). Spec is as following,

- SiR front hub 4 x 100 bolts pattern
- 15 inch Spoon wheel +35 offset (15x6.5)
- 3 mm spacer
- Brake disc 284mm (not stock EK9/DC2)

I tested with a A4 paper, it can slide between the caliper and wheel......but from the look, it is less than 1 mm clearance.
 
It wouldn't expand during extreme heat would it? If it does then 1mm clearance is not enough?
 
It's enough, but you need to ensure your wheel torque is correct.

I don't get why people are so freaked out about getting a 2mm spacer to give themselves a bit of peace of mind?

That or just get the proper offset wheel.... just boggles my mind.

FWIW, I run a 8mm spacer in the front even though, my wheels will clear my Spoon calipers.
 
so do standard ek9 and ek4 wheels fit over the spoon calipers or do they need spacers as well.
