Which is better I am getting the spoon one for cheap like 950US and the buddy clubs for like 700US i have heard the BC is bouncey how many person have experience with both? Feedback please

Buddy Club is a bit bouncy but nothing to worry about if the roads you are moving are decent.

i would go for spoon

however i am just a brand whore

I need to know from somebody who have experience with I am upgrading my EK9 so far it is stroke so am doing sus, cams, ecu and changing out some of the parts.

If they are the Black N1 dampers, I would definitely choose them over the Buddy Club.

I had them before and ran them with 18/16kg springs on the street. A bit too hardcore for most, but at 14/12 or even 12/10 they are comfortable.

He was reffering to the original black spoon ones which do now have seperate height/preload adjustment, not them.....

If you can get those units pictured at 950usd - you'd better jump on them...they're the new units developed by KYB which are just as good.

Which N1 dampers from buddy club? The 32way adjustable units?

Buddyclub don't have an N1 Damper (by name). If you mean their endurance spec damper, then they are called the P1 Racing Damper and were built by the original Buddyclub Japan. These are the real deal, but are now discontinued. If you can get what's left of their stock, they are a very good choice indeed.

Judging by your $700 pricetag though, I'm assuming you are referring to Buddyclub USA (i.e AAI Motorsports from Taiwan, who bought the interests of Buddyclub when they went bankrupt, re-manufactured everything in their catalog and started selling re-branded eBay stuff). If that is the case, I wouldn't really recommend them.

I guess the point I'm trying to get at is, if you are after a JDM Brand, get the Spoon, as Buddyclub is no longer a JDM Brand.

thanks much I have always looking for spoon the dude told me is the ones made by showa with swift spring.

pretty sure he must mean the buddyclub N+ dampers ? Ive just put these in the car, yet to test it out tho, facelift conversion still not finished :( but I'll be able to compare with the tein HA I had and factory shocks.

Even if Buddu Club N+ are built in China or somewhere near this doesn't make them by default bad. The negative reviews are extremely rare, especially those for oil leakage or failure.

p.s. When i got mine on the box, and on the shochs there wasn't any info about the place of manufacture. Just Japan everywhere.

You are correct, even though they are not made in Japan, it does not necessarily mean they are bad.

My statement though was more on the assumption that the OP was wanting a set of JDM Branded coilovers though (hence the reason for being interested in the Spoon)

Most parts that are "made in Japan" are no longer 100% made in Japan.

"Wait...what?"

It's true that some of the parts may have origins of design/concept/prototype testing in Japan but when it comes to the actual manufacturing, it can be outsourced to other nearby countries, most notably China and Taiwan.

Between the two, you would want the latter.

"So how is it still 'made in Japan' on the box? Isn't that illegal??"

The damper manufactured in Taiwan would not be 100% finished. It would be boxed up, sent to Japan where decals, maybe paint, maybe even some form of assembly or 'value added' finishing touches are applied. This alone would qualify for it to be "made in Japan" (the exact percentage of work necessary for this qualification I'm not certain).

MANY Japanese manufacturers have gone this route on some if not most of their product line up.

Ok let us get this cleared up these are the Buddy clubs i am talking. Dampers

Yes, those are the N+ Dampers by Buddyclub USA.

Of the two options you have, I would choose the Spoon.
