Yeah last month the government recently place a ban on cars older than 2016 for traffic reason (been a problem from 2006, grew worst in 2017) so even if i wanted to buy a CL1 euroR or a evo 9, wont be able too cause of the year, the cars are getting rare on my island and I have no interest in selling mines even though i personally know 9 people who want to buy my civic (4 for the shell, others like the idea of the h22a in it and the style i'm doing. Thanks man. It's mad how rare they seem to be now. I remember when I bought this one nearly 15 years ago now, there was 2-3 others in my town alone and its a very small town. Can't remember the last time I seen one drive by me now. Must be a good few lads also who just have them off the road for now. I always knew I would never sell mine though, so to see how the restoration is turning out above and knowing it will be so much better than even the first day I bought it is some buzz.![]()
Totally understand the process. My ITR engine bay needs to be refreshed with paint and I'm torn on not doing it as my cost for the rebuild is up there...but I know I wont have everything out again anytime soon. I try to have the "while I'm there" mentality but that gets expensive thinking that way sometimesHey man, no it's a fair comment. Been honest it was just never something that was on my radar at the beginning as I just had it in my head that I will be doing a full engine rebuild further down the line and will have it vapor blasted then etc. Also never considered how old the motor an trans will look when everything else around it is brand new lookingbut will get it done for sure when I get the engine rebuilt in a few years.
when I go back to my original post an see what underneath the car looked like before I started this restoration it's mad ha.
A ban on cars as new as 2015 seems mentalYeah last month the government recently place a ban on cars older than 2016 for traffic reason (been a problem from 2006, grew worst in 2017) so even if i wanted to buy a CL1 euroR or a evo 9, wont be able too cause of the year, the cars are getting rare on my island and I have no interest in selling mines even though i personally know 9 people who want to buy my civic (4 for the shell, others like the idea of the h22a in it and the style i'm doing.![]()

Well actually we can drive, what I meant to say is that we can't import them in but their working to now establish that you can ship them in under 'antique' or 'classic' so there is hope I may can get a evo9A ban on cars as new as 2015 seems mentalso are you no longer able to drive your civic on the roads or does it just prevent any more cars older than 2016 being imported?
