Just bought a Skunk2 IMF for my EK4 at King motorsports and asked them to port and polish it. They made the kindness of sending some pictures of the making process and here they are.

Bad news, back from the dyno and I ..... lost power.
Can someone figure why? I was imagining if because of the smaller velocity inside the intake the air was getting hotter and the power smaller, so a thermal gasket could solve. Another thing is that intakes can´t be polished, could not say why but at the end it f***d any way.
Ok guys, now I need loads of 2 cents opinions.

Did you just fit it and dyno it?

I'd imagine you would need your map tweaked to suit before you would see a gain..

What engine do you have? Going to large with the intake ports can actually slow air flow resulting in power loss but equally can if your engine isnt mapped for the extra breathing

Yes, the engine is a B16a2 and it was dyno tuned. I'm also running K&N intake, Buddy Club Spec.III cams and adjustable cam gears, 4-1 header and Magnaflow exaust.

Standard b16a compression?

hmm i think this could work better with cams and compression.
can you post dynoruns before and after ?

I forgot to bring the file with me, I will ask if they save it, if so I post it.
It's always worth to say that the "before" and "after were made at the same dyno.

maybe is to much air going in and not enough fuel so you may need to adjust the fuel also do you have the stock throttle body cause that would have make a difference too..

No, I have a 68mm throttle body and, belive it or not, the mixture is rich at hight rev, don't ask me why.
