Does anyone know how to remove the bushings for Skunk2 Lower Control Arms?
I need to remove them because I have... plans. You will see later, but for now, I need to remove the Skunk2 LCA bushings.

Press them out, or if they are buggered and you're not picky, burn them out!:nice:

Hell no I ain't burning them out. I still want to use them. Can't press them out either, I think. The Skunk2 LCA bushing overlaps the whole a little bit (think mushroom) and the bolt hole is metal. What I am wondering is, are they 2 piece. If I just hammer out the metal bolt hole, will they come apart?

The bushings are horrible and if you tell skunk2 they'll ship you a new set
for free... I changed all of them for a buddy a few months ago and was able to easily work them out with a pocket screwdriver but his were facked

I think thats the answer you need right there! I know the energy bushing sets are 3 piece but not sure what will be in the S2 LCAs.

Worth contacting S2 for a new set regardless imo man...:nice:

as said above i contacted them and got a free replacement set too!
once you push the metal tube out, the bushings should come off, if not some kind of grip and turn would do it

Man do you reckon the new replacment bushings are better quality than the first set?
Cheers!

Thats a joke! Charging top dollar for inferior aftermarket parts that dont last. But will say ''we f*^ked up, have some free bushings'' to try and patch it up. While you have to get your hands dirty again and again and againto fix the crap bushings they reimburse you with.
Screw that, bullshit bling.
OEM ftw...:nice:

they send the exact same bushings and say they should be "pre loaded" before driven on however that doesnt help at all... but all of the companies use the same shitty bushings including function7... EXCEPT when they have the inner and outer bushings replaced by rose-jointed/spherical bearings which function7 does offer... however there is a problem between the company producing the bearing and function7 so they are "in between" companies if that makes since..

sorry to get slightly off topic but it frustrates me that all of these "race suspension" companies use these cheap rubber chinese bushings that dont last but a few months

Its cool man, I completely agree with you. The only problem is that there is always a compromise. When it comes to bushings, there is no perfect bushing. You either get soft bushings (OEM) that last forever, but not so good for racing. Or hard bushings meant for racing, but don't last that long. Your damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Now back to the LCA. Called Skunk2 and they said the LCA bushing is 3 piece and all you need to do is push out the bolt hole, and they come right off. So today I got a crap load of lube (WD40, PB Blaster, KY Jelly, etc...) and was only able to push the bolt hole out about 1cm!
So tomorrow I will be going to my boys shop and using his hydro press. I'll let you know how it goes.

What do you know... the middle bolt hole punched right out with the hydro press. The bushings are 3 piece and I didn't even have to burn them out.
Well I will update y'all on why I punched out the bushings in the first place when I am finished. Thank you every one that responded.

No worries.
