Shifter question

My shifter feels loose and moves about a bit. There is no problem with it going in gear but when its in gear you can still move it right and left quite a bit like 3-5 cm. I heard that the bushings have gone and it won't be a problem if I just leave it but I want to get it sorted cause its annoying sometimes.


Does anyone know which parts I need to replace?

I prefer to use OEM parts but I need to know which parts I need so that I can order them. Using that link does anyone know which parts I require?

I would go with the energy suspension if you're not looking to replace them again. I've only heard good things when switching to es shifter bushings. I also had them in my integra

energy mate get them on funkypower.co.uk really good job tightens the whole gearbox up
 
OEM is always a good bet, but in this case I would not go with OEM.
 
It should be be ok for a D series transmission right? (Energy ones)

Yes on a D they are just as perfect. I did that when I had a D in my coupe.
Basically it provides a firm and exact feel to the shifter with little play side to side when in gear. You know what gear your in.

Get it, you will love it.

Does anyone know what the torque settings are for the bolts? Also I cannot get my torque wrench into the bolt where the rod connects to the gearbox, if I just tighten it by hand should that be ok?

Tighten by hand, will be fine

I did this when fitting my Mugen shift bushes adges ago and they've been spot on
 
I have fitted those bushes and they now feel stiffer when changing gears. When I am in gear I can still move it side to side about 3-5 CM is this normal?

i believe yes m8 my ek9 my friends dc2 and my cousins s2k are like these!! i mean our shifter stick moves great excellent feel but it moves a bit never counted the range
 
It was more flexable than the new one, that was all I noticed.

Shoot! I have the EXACT same problem. How exactly do you change it? I need to do mine asap because I hate it. It just happened to me a few days ago. Also, it just doesn't move a little side to side when the stick is in gear but it also moves side to side a bit when the stick is in neutral with little force/pressure applied to the stick. Is that the same problem you had too? Thanks
