I've just been to look at a silver fn2 type r in Edinburgh and the last services have a stamp that just says jap specialists. No number or any other identifier. The car was owned in kelty in Scotland any ideas? The previous services all have receipts even if it is the dreaded Arnold Clark variety. This service being the most expensive potentially I want to be sure it's actually been done. Anyone able to help?

Thanks!

If there's no service invoice to back up the work, I don't trust any service stamps.

Can make your own one up off eBay easily enough.

Can you Google jap specialists phone number and give them a ring to see if they have done any work on the car.

There's no phone number on the stamp and nothing I can find on Google so far. It's got two stamps from them for the 4th and 5th year services.

performance HQ are just down the road, and they deal with a lot of jap stuff.
Give them a ring?

Could u not just ask the previous owner if he knows the number. Or at least where it is to narrow your google search?

Use this to your advantage to knock money off it and go get the car serviced yourself, dipping the oil will tell you if it has been changed recently as it it should be golden to light brown, dark brown or black usually tells a story. A big service on an fn2 isn't hard anyway the hardest probably being changing the cabin filter

If your that worried about it, keep looking! It's not like they are rare, there's plenty out there.

yep the guy thinks I'm doing it to knock more money off and keeps coming back with lower amounts but I'm not interested unless it's got a full service history and that's two services I can't prove (makes my life a hell of a lot easier when I come to sell)
I'd do the service myself but now that I'm working away all the time and live in the city centre I don't have the time, space etc to do it myself (never thought I'd say that lol)

Like I said it was just on the off-chance anyone had heard of them.

cheers guys
