Hello EK9,

Had a question in regards to my motor I currently have. I am in the thoughts of trying to sell my USDM GSR motor but not to sure of the facts here in Europe. I know in Germany the germans need some kind of paperwork involved with me showing prof of purchase or a reciept of some sort. But with the car coming from the states it is not necessary to have all them documents.

Is it easier to sell in other EU countries without documentation?

What are the rules in other places in regards to purchasing engines?

Am I wasting my time trying to sell my motor?

Who is interested?

hopefully I can get some questions answered. All the locals in Germany are afraid to buy it because its expensive to put on the registration and due to me not having any documents. thanks

I think you will struggle to sell it in any eu country as all will need some form of proof of ownership, also since it is a usdm car it might also need the equivalent of British SVA (single vehicle approval), this is different f on one country to another. If you can't be bothered sending it back to the U.S. someone might buy it for spares?

thanks for the information, its to clean of a motor to break apart for spares so it looks like ill just be holding on to it for now.

please share ek9 members

He's just selling an engine, not a car.

If the price is right and you are willing to ship it then it's worth putting it on eBay.

A b18c1 is pretty much the same as a b18c4, which in the UK sell for between £300 and £700 usually

Yeah I am not aware of the need for paperwork here either. - Just the engine number to be sent to dvla.

You'd sell it in the UK no problem, the majority of engine swapped cars wont be declared especially if it's the same engine type.

^^^^thanks for the info^^^^ ill probably post it on ebay soon

can any Germany residence share their knowledge ?
