Just wondering what would be the best fluid to put in to a lsd on an s4c type r gearbox?? How much fluid does it take also??

We don`t use that stuff where i live. the UK guys should now for sure. But why not mtf? it`s the best you can use for your gearbox.

Thanks for the advice guys any recomendations on whats best for the lsd aswel??

use land rover or honda mtf if your get an aftermarket lsd get motul gear 300 75w90:nice:

Actually, I would recommend against using any form of Hypoid Gear Oil in a honda as it is too high viscosity. It has been proven time and time again that this causes more damage than it is worth.

Honda transmissions were designed for transmission fluid, which is more like motor oil than gear oil. This is why we recommend using Honda MTF (or Land Rover/Texaco) for daily drivers, or our recommended tranny fluid for racing applications (Torco. Pity it costs so much to ship across the pond though).

Land Rover MTF94, same as honda but easier to get and cheaper....

car takes 2.2L, can get a 5L bottle from Land Rover for £20 so will do 2 changes :)

from my own experience the land rover mtf wasn't great with a 1.5 way diff the diff was noisy and banged alot, using the motul gear 300 and it reduced the banging and the noise too

i just fitted new aftermarket lsd Kaaz which strongly advises to use Hypoid gear oil 80w90, but i always used amsoil mtf in my honda gearbox, what do you do there?
thanks

For those running the plate-type LSD's, then it is slightly different, as you need the extra additives for the diff to work efficiently. You could just go by the manufacturers recommended oil for their diff.
